Our cottage opens directly onto Burren stone and is tucked into the hazel woods offering privacy and quiet. A lovely deck with fire pit right is perfect for little gatherings, a quiet cup of tea or glass in hand star gazing (no light pollution means we have spectacular skies!). The house is warm and cosy with wood stove and gas fired heating. Two bedrooms and two bathrooms makes it an ideal getaway for couples, small groups of friends and families. Please note, the cottage is not very suitable for children under the age of 5 - the listing does not give a flexible age limit. Our staircase is narrow and may not be suitable for younger guests. We are happy to provide bedding for the sofa bed downstairs in the main living area free of charge, should you feel more comfortable with the children sleeping downstairs. Just let us know and we'll do our best to make it comfortable. Pets are very welcome - our property is gated and safe. The wood fired hot tub and sauna are nestled into a stone ruin right next to the cottage, linked by a little path through the woods.
If you need babysitting, information on the area, tips on local restaurants or events just ask - we can even make reservations/enquiries.

Woodsmoke is the perfect destination for a cozy Irish getaway! The location is amazing because it’s out in the country but still so close to the city and Galway Bay. Also the hosts are amazing and made the entire trip so comfortable and stress free!

The house is on the edge of the Burren National Park with direct access to the mountains from the driveway of the house. Considered to be Ireland's flagship heritage landscape, from flora to fauna. geology to archaeology, agriculture to community. So what do people think about when they think about the Burren? For many, it has to be the flowers. No surprise there, as the region hosts a spectacular array of over 70% of Ireland's native flora, including 22 of our 27 native orchid species and the much-loved blue gentian, compressed into what is just under 0.5% of our national land mass. This extraordinary flora supports an equally diverse fauna – from feral goats to pine martens, elegant butterflies to snake-like slow worms. For many people it's the archaeology that is of most interest in the ...
