Interaction with guests
We don't stay on-site, so you have the whole house to yourselves, however we are available by phone to help with any requirements you may have - our other house is only a few minutes away. We run the village cafe-restaurant (Globe Kitchen & G-Kal Bakery) which is open Friday to Sunday for fresh-baked bread, cakes and simple but tasty meals, so we're there most of the time at weekends if further support (or sustenance!) is needed!

About the neighbourhood
The small village of Gorsko Kalugerovo lies in a wooded valley, ('gorsko' means wooded; 'kalugerovo' refers to monks, or a monastery) with mainly oak forests, dramatic limestone escarpments to the north. Looking the the west, more escarpments lead the way to the 21km-long Aleksander Stambolijski reservoir, (about 5km distant) and the village of Gorsko Kosovo. The winemaking town of Suhindol is on a higher-level plateau to the north-west. The area is great for walking, cycling, off-road motorcycling and 4x4 off-road driving, as well as fishing, hunting and canoeing. Outdoor enthusiast's dream area! The village has limited facilities, but a well-stocked village shop in the centre has the essentials, with nearby Pavlikeni (14km) and Sevlievo (24km) offering everything else you might want. L...
How to get there
Sofia airport offers the most convenient access to the area, although there are numerous flights to the Black Sea resorts of Varna & Burgas, as well as Plovdiv airport's WizzAir services. Onward travel can be arranged by car-hire directly from the airport, with desks at the terminals, or the slightly less stressful option of coach travel offering a cheap but comfortable alternative. Car hire is easily arranged locally, often at a good saving over the airport car-hire operators' rates. We can easy help arrange car hire (& airport pick-up if you'd like) so please just ask!!
