This lovely detached cottage sits within the quiet surroundings of Hemswell Village, near the Maypole and close to the Church. A very smart interior with wooden floors, beautiful furnishings with a french feel, the Forge offers a splendid home for your holiday and is suited for the less able visitors. Hemswell Antique Centre (the largest in Europe) is 1 mile away, medieval Lincoln, 13 miles, Doddington Hall, 14 miles. Pubs and restaurants 3 miles, shop 1 mile. At the Forge for the first time , we went their to visit Lincoln Christmas market, we found the Forge was really well furnished very clean and comfortable. Met Christele just briefly found her very nice and helpful. Margaret taken ill with a chest infection...More

About the neighbourhood
Hemswell Cliff (less than 1 mile from the cottage) has a vast range of antiques in a series of old RAF blocks.
Gainsborough (8 miles) has its Old Hall, a large medieval manor house, a modern shopping centre: Marshall's Yard with Laura Ashley and Marks & Spencer.
Lincoln, as well as its historic features, has several good museums. it also has an excellent range of good restaurants.
Doddington Hall, near Lincoln, is a superb Tudor house and gardens.
For children, Sundown Adventure Land theme park for under 10s (16 miles) and Yorkshire Wildlife Park (22miles) are both great outings.
The Trinity Arts Centre, Gainsborough, and the Drill Hall, Lincoln produce programmes of live performances.
Getting around
Own transport is essential. The nearest shop is 10 min away by car in Kirton Lindsay. The public transport system is limited. There are buses to Lincoln and
Scunthorpe. The nearest train station is in Gainsborough (15 min away by car) and the main train station is in Lincoln (25 min away by car).
There is a park and ride facility near Lincoln to faciltate visiting Lincoln.
