Sit on the Well in the garden and watch the Buzzards circling over the valley.

Jasmine was a new addition this year. located next to the patio to make the most of its sweet scent.
The Agapanthus looked so good this summer.
Bluebells in Flaxley woods. Just a short walk from the Cottage.
Nearby Welshbury Hill. An Ironage Hill Fort covered in Bluebells. well worth a visit.
St Anthony's well is a magical place only 10 minutes walk from the cottage.
Jasper, Nemo and Magnus.

Nuthatch Cottage is a detached former Forester's cottage sitting in its own maturing secure garden.
The cottage is perched just below Shapridge common overlooking the Flaxley Valley on the edge of the Royal Forest of Dean, one of England's surviving ancient woodlands.
The cottage was lovingly renovated & refurbished in 2015 with new beds, furniture and appliances throughout. Upstairs is fully carpeted with black out blinds at all of the windows. There are 2 bedrooms, 1 with a king size bed and the other with 2 singles which can zip and link to make a superking. It comfortably sleeps up to 4 people. Perfect for couples, families or just you and your dog!
The beds are extremely comfortable pocket sprung mattresses with hypoallergenic bedding and a travel cot is available if required.

If you happen to be visiting the nearby ASHA Centre for a course or event and their accommodation is fully booked (as it was during our visit), this cottage is the perfect alternative. It is a short 15 minute walk away through the woods, has a beautiful view over the valley, and is well-designed and cared for (inside and out)....

This is our 3rd stay at Nuthatch but each time feels like the first, the cottage is spotless from top to bottom with everything you need for a perfect stay, welcome milk and biscuits was nice as we were desperate for a cuppa on arrival,,the log burner just perfect,,the beds are very comfortable and listening to the owl on a...

Stayed at the cottage over new year and fell in love with the place as soon as we arrived. When i looked to book i thought it was too good to be true but when i arrived i reqlised how wonderful the cottage truely is. Everything was perfect and I woudlnt change a thing about it. The Forest of Dean lies between the Mighty Severn Estuary and the Beautiful Wye Valley (AONB).
The Forest of Dean is one of England's surviving ancient woodlands and measures approximately 110 square kilometres, there are many walks, cycle tracks and interesting places to see and things to do.
Go Ape, Puzzle Wood, Beechenhurst, Mallards Pike, Canoeing on the River Wye or maybe the 700 metre Zip Wire at the National diving & activity centre near Chepstow.
A short drive takes you to the Wye Valley with its market towns of Monmouth, Chepstow or Tintern Abbey which lies at the mid point between the two towns along the Wye Valley.

There is a surprisingly good, frequent bus service that serves the Forest of Dean and beyond.
