Walkers will be spoilt for choice, with Skiddaw on one side, and Catbells on the other, along with walks from the doorstep on Maiden Moor, Dale Head, Grisdale Pike and Causey Pike to name but a few. About the neighbourhood
The Newlands Valley links the village of Braithwaite with Buttermere. There are very fine walks straight onto the fells from the property so no need to take the car all the time .. big walks, high walks, low walks , valley river walks, walks to tea shops, walks to lakes.

Whinlatter is nearby and as well as a Go-Ape has an extensive cycling path network catering for all levels.
within a couple of miles are a marina (offering canoe, boat hire) and Newlands Adventure Centre for Ghyll Scrambling, Climbing etc.

The views from StoneyAcre are spectacular and take in Skiddaw, Blencathra, Helvellyn, Catbells, and Causey Pike.

Railway: Penrith: 32.0 km
From J40 of the M6 , head west towards Keswick on the A66 for 20 miles. A mile past Keswick turn left into Braithwaite and head towards Buttermere. StoneyAcre is about a mile out of Braithwaite.
