La Roudie is a small hamlet near Gourdon and Sarlat. Les Chenes, our spacious gite which sleeps 10 + baby has been created from a restored stone barn, it comes with a beautiful pool. Les Chenes is located in a tranquil rural setting surrounded by six acres of safe secluded gardens and woodland. Les Chenes provides very comfortable accommodation for up to 10 guests. Les Chenes is a no smoking gite. The accommodation retains a traditional farmhouse theme, with stone walls and oak beams. The ground floor has a superbly equipped kitchen with plenty of storage space, large larder, electric oven, gas hob, dishwasher, washing machine, fridge, freezer and microwave. The lounge is equipped with a satellite tv, dvd and cd player. No pets are allowed at Les Chenes. An open plan staircase from the dining room rises over two further floors which lead to three bedrooms on the first floor, two double bedrooms which have en-suite bathrooms and one twin bedroom. On the second floor two more bedrooms are located, one double and one twin bedroom. These rooms are separated by a well equipped shower room with wash basin and wc. On the ground floor there is large wet room complete with shower, wash basin and wc. In the garden an attractive and very inviting 10m x 5m swimming pool (guests have exclusive use) with large paved surround and elevated timber decked sun terrace awaits you. There is a BBQ and covered area for table tennis, pool and snooker. Boules, short tennis, badminton, football and kwik cricket are available. Cycle rides, canoes and kayaks on the Dordogne, woodland walks, nature treks are possible. Adequate and safe car parking is available within the grounds. Guests have their own private gated access driveway to the gite. Nearby in Auniac, just walking distance away is an auberge - for great meals and your daily bread. Gourdon, the nearest town,is an attractive medieval centre of butter cloured stone buildings. It includes two large supermarkets, a post office, banks, various shops, and a wide selection of good restaurants are there to meet your every need. Lively open air markets are music festivals are regularly held. Places to visit are Gourdon, the Grottes de Cougnac, Rocamador, Gouffre de Padirac, St-Cirq-Lapopie, Domme, Sarlat and many locations along the rivers Lot and Dordogne. La Roudie is 30 minutes away from Junction 55 off the N20 motorway between Brive-La Gaillarde and Cahors. Toulouse and Bergerac airports are 1.5 hours away by car. Gourdon-Paris is a 4.5 hour train journey away, direct from Paris or 1.5 hours from Toulouse. More

Excellent property providing a base for the local area and opportunity to unwind in a peaceful setting. Facilities were excellent and the owners were extremely helpful and willing to assist at every opportunity prior to taking our holiday. Will definitely be going back.

Our guests have said the house, pool and grounds were very nice. A response is really not needed when your guests have had a nice holiday. We would say however that it is a shame that other comments made have been grossly distorted.

Gourdon (Lot) Gourdon, capital of the Bouriane, is a small picturesque town with many fascinating side streets leading up to the old quarter and church and the Table d'Orientation which has a stunning 360° view over the Bouriane countryside. It has a history dating back to medieval times and the Grottes de Cougnac has the oldest viewable prehistoric cave paintings dating back 25000 years. On the circular route around the town you will find a variety of excellent restaurants and pavement café bars where you can sit and watch the world go by. The Tuesday and Saturday markets sell local produce to sample amongst which is the famous Fois Gras.
