To the front is the large sitting-room with double doors to the dining room/kitchen.

To the rear are 2 large bedrooms with French windows onto the balcony that stretches across the house - perfect place for a drink or to catch the afternoon sun with a book perhaps.

All the furniture was chosen with care. There are lots of books, quite a number of CD's (mainly classical) and a fair number of DVD's for you to watch on your laptop. A welcome bottle of local rose wine and a bottle of milk always in fridge on your arrival - usually supplies of tea and/or coffee and other basics are in stock too.

Thank you for your kind review. How nice you could be there for the cherry festival. Luckily there are so many varieties that cherry season lasts quite a lot longer! I do hope you will be back. Not least, as there's nearly always something interesting...More

So pleased that you enjoyed the local events. The Mairie does a great job in organising them throughout the year and, of course, particularly in the summer. However, I adore the place off-season, so that's when I try to get there: winter sunshine is definitely...More

About the neighbourhood
Situated between the mountains and the Med, this area is marvellous for walking or painting: autumn colour breathtaking, February vivid mimosa all around and then wild flowers and cherries take over. Winter blue skies and local mountain Le Canigou dominates the horizon, dusted with snow 2/3 of the year. Summers are warm, languid and sunny. Together with the clarity of light, this must have given inspiration to Picasso, Braque and others when they spent summers here. Ceret is a small country town of great charm and great trees, very relaxed, but with many fiestas all year and there is nearly always music. There are good restaurants and bars. Saturdays see the fabulous street market. And the Musee d'Arte Moderne in Ceret is a must.
