About the neighbourhood
There is a weekly market in Ambert and Issoire and a small market in Sauxillanges. There are fetes and brocantes in many of the surrounding villages every week throughout the summer, and the ''fete de musique'' on midsummer night is always popular. The Auvergne is well known for its local cheeses including Bleu D'Auvergne St. Nectaire and Forme D'ambert. The Puy De Dome is a must with its new railway to the top finnished for summer 2012 or why not take the cable car to the top of Le Mont Dore, on a clear day you can see Mont Blanc in the distance. Clermont Ferrand is our closest large city, with its lovely ''black Cathedral'' and of course its rugby team ''Clermont Auvergne''
