The gite is in the owner's large garden, the location is superb. On the edge of the town of Mimizan and on most occasions when we were in the garden the only sounds were birdsong and falling acorns from the dozen oak trees in the garden. The beaches are a fifteen minute drive away and in September we sometimes saw as many as six people on the miles and miles of sand. The cottage is fairly comfortable - the lounge and eating area is a reasonable size as is the bathroom and the bedroom is adequate, although the bed dips in the middle, an inexpensive mattress I guess. The food preparation/cooking area presents something of a challenge as space is at a premium. The television provides an ideal opportunity to brush up on your French language skills as the only channels available are French. The owner, Didier, is a perfect gentleman and could not have been more helpful.
