Situated in rural France surrounded by vineyards, walnut groves and sunflowers, Les Mondains is ideally suited for a family holiday/extended family get together, to remember. The 500 year old farmhouse is located within a gated garden with private parking. The property is situated at the end of a country lane, there is no passing traffic, only the sound of nature. Les Mondains has 2 living rooms with authentic french furniture and lots of charm.(wifi available),There is a large rustic kitchen, with table & chairs. The kitchen is well equipped with everything you need for cooking and dining outside. There are double doors to the garden where there is a large private patio dining area with table & chairs for 10 people & a charcoal barbecue for outdoor cooking. Upstairs there are 4 bedrooms - all king size beds. Further accommodation can be available upon request. All bedrooms have authentic french furniture. (a cot can be provided on request). The master bedroom has a large ensuite shower room, The main family bathroom has a large shower and stand alone roll top bath. There are another 2 shower rooms with a large showers. The bedroom on the ground floor has an adjoining toilet & wash hand basin. The swimming pool is 11.5m x 5m, mosaic tiled, and has sun loungers & parasols around it, with stunning views over walnut groves. The pool has a shallow end, making it ideal for younger children. Les Mondains offers WIFI Internet, bicycles, badminton (we have racquets), childrens play area including swings, swingball and a trampoline and free access to the village tennis court (1km). Other local activities include 27 championship golf course, horse-riding, walks through the beautiful countryside (donkeys, horses etc) vineyards/wine tasting, hot-air ballooning, gliding, canoeing on the Dordogne etc. The local village of Margueron is a short cycle away (1km) where there is an epicerie for your croissants, baguettes, local produce and lots of essentials, They are also happy to take your order for breakfast items for the duration of your stay. There are lots of things to do and see within easy reach, villages and Chateaux to explore as well as markets to buy local fresh produce and night food markets where you can dine and dance the night away. There are plenty of interesting and historic towns and villages nearby (within 10-30 minutes by car) including the medieval town of St. Emilion where you can sample some of its famous wines. Visit the old town of Bergerac situated on the banks of the Dordogne river. There are shops for everything. Throughout the summer season there are many events that take place such as wine festivals, vide greniers (car boot sales with a difference), antique fairs and spectacular firework displays. All around are family run vineyards, where you can visit to taste and buy their wines. Les Mondains is the perfect location for a relaxed extended family holiday to remember.More

We had a fantastic stay in this beautiful property and would highly recommend it. All that you could want on your doorstep and some fantastic vineyards within easy reach to be enjoyed. Beautiful countryside and surroundings and very friendly people. Would definitely recommend!

We found the farmhouse spacious, very clean and really comfortable. The pool and garden were great. We spent two weeks at the property with friends and family and had a lovely relaxing holiday. Lots to do and see. Highly recommended.

Lovely farmhouse in a superb part of rural France. We stayed for 2 weeks in June 2017. Plenty of sunshine, great food and wine in a very relaxing environment. Beautiful views of the surrounding countryside, walnut groves and vineyards as far as the eye can...More

What a great house and pool in a stunning part of rural France. The location is superb, peaceful and safe for children. A perfect place to relax with a glass of wine from the locals. We will be back.

There are lots of things to do and see within easy reach. There are plenty of interesting and historic towns and villages nearby (within 10-30 minutes by car) including the medieval town of St. Emilion where you can sample some of its famous wines. Getting around
This is rural France at its best, however, a car is necessary. In saying that, there is a direct train service from the local town, Ste Foy La Grande to Saint Emilion, a Unesco heritage site and a few stops later you arrive in the centre of Bordeaux, or go the opposite direction and visting the famous town of Sarlat.
