Caravan had everything we needed, it was clean and comfortable and the views were fabulous. I’d recommend walking up to the monument to get even better views of the countryside. It is a very quiet area, all you can hear of an evening is the babbling of the stream. The weather was a bit dreich, but it didn’t spoil our...

Unfortunately the week we visited it rained practically non stop so we could not enjoy the BBQ area or outdoor furniture provided. The owners were...

Management response:

Thank you for the lovely review, I am sorry I can't do anything to help with the rain. We hope you do come back to our lovely area of Scotland and explore with out the rain. See you both hopefully again soon.

Area around Kilchrenan and Loch Awe in Argyll, West Highlands of Scotland. There are numerous beautiful walks and picnic spots within easy reach of the house as well as excellent cycling on both forest and quiet single track roads. Locally, there are many excellent day trips for all the family to enjoy including Bonawe Iron Furnace a historic monument, Inverawe Smokeries & Country Park near Taynuilt, the historic Kilmartin Glen & Museum, The Scottish Sealife Sanctuary, many beautiful gardens, several golf courses, gloriou... more
Getting around
The best way to get around the surrounding area is by car, as their is limited public transport. We are fortunate to have a local bus service run by West Coast Motors who pass our road end twice a day going into Oban. Also there is a train service in Taynuilt (6 miles away) going between Oban and Glasgow.

If you want to explore the local area then there are a number of lovely walks through forest glens and hills.
