About the neighbourhood
Amersfoort sits on the Gers/Hautes-Pyrenees border in a small rural farming hamlet. The house has lovely views of the Pyrenees to the south and is surrounded by fields.Nearby shops and supermarkets are about a 10km drive away for all your needs, or you can drive to Auch or Tarbes (a little further afield) to visit larger shops and hypermarkets. It is a very peaceful area, little traffic apart from the odd tractor going by. Unspoilt by tourism, you can become part of French country life during your holiday. Nearby you will find beautiful villages, lots of history and many good restaurants. For those who like sports, we have tennis, golf, horse riding, fishing and much more.
Amersfoort is in a very rural area so a car is essential for getting around. The roads are very quiet and driving is a joy!
