Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.
If you have submitted a review for a holiday rental property, we may also ask that you provide us with proof of your stay to ensure that your review is attached to the correct rental property.
Holiday rental reviews collected via the VRBO website (formerly Homeaway) and syndicated to the Tripadvisor website are not currently subject to Tripadvisor’s standard moderation processes.

Perfect Perigord property
We had a great week, and Marie Christine was a thoughtful and friendly host. The gite had everything we need for a restful week. It's a beautiful property with plenty of space. The outdoor areas were wonderful, and the pool was a special place to spend warmer days. Loads of places to visit in the surrounding area. Highly recommended!

Bonnes vacances garanties!

A superb, relaxing family holiday
We found out about this property through TripAdvisor and were impressed with the reviews, to which we can only add our own congratulatory comments. What a fantastic holiday we had. As five adults (two parents and three children between 18 and 22) we couldn't have had a more perfect holiday. Three of the group took road bikes and went out for four long rides which were superb. Facilities at the property were great, particularly the swimming pool which was absolutely stunning, with far reaching views, peace and tranquility all around. Our second week was a bit overcast but there was plenty to do with a tree top adventure, canoeing, incredible medieval towns to visit, Sarlat being a must. Some superb food and restaurants, great local markets to visit and buy fresh produce and wonderful atmosphere everywhere we went. Would definitely go back and recommend this gite and the hosts who were superb and couldn't do enough for us. We were invited to join Marie for aperitifs and she also joined us for a meal too, it was wonderful to get to know our hosts and spend time with them. Marie also offers massages and treatments which was a real treat for myself and my daughter whilst the others went out cycling. A great area to explore by foot, bike or car. We used the barbeque most days for our meals, the gite was very adequately kitted out and had everything that we needed. We all slept well and had such a lovely relaxing holiday. Huge thanks to Marie and Henry for our lovely stay.

A peaceful haven in a beautiful corner of the world.
We traveled with 4 adults and a 2 year old. Marie and her family are so warm and welcoming. The property is quite rural but with the bonus of only being 2km away (my 2 year old could walk it) from a very well serviced village - with a Sunday market, cafe, bakery, restaurants post office, supermarket and tourist office. The area is full of activities. There is a prehistoric cave about 5km and some lovely villages less than 20km away. We were able to visit a dinosaur park (Le Conquil) and Le Bugue has many activities including an aquarium and alligator park, and a real life park (much like Beamish in the North East UK) where you can live rural french life for the day. This home really has the wow factor. The dining area opens onto a little courtyard full of roses and lavender and at the back a patio with vivid orange roses, some herbs and a woodland area with BBQ. To the far side and from the pool you get amazing views across the valley and there is a large garden and meadow area to explore. The pool is gated at the front where you access from the property and is situated about 15m away up some small stairs. There is open access from the very back of the gardens. Having said that my daughter never once ventured that far alone, preferring the wood and courtyard garden for independent exploration. Marie kindly provides some pool toys and seating/tables. I felt the pool was very safe and it was a major asset to the holiday. The property itself has a very rustic feel. It is very clean and has all the facilities you would want. Fully equipped kitchen, board games, smart TV and some children's toys (including a massive box of lego which my daughter loved). There is a beautiful double room, a twin room and a single room upstairs. There is also a bathroom with shower and bath. Downstairs there is large open kitchen/diner and this leads down to a comfortable seating area. There is a small corridor leading to another room with a large day bed and small bathroom with shower (small but perfectly usable). The house has three doors which lead to the courtyard and french doors which lead to the patio. You can open them to let the sunshine in and really feel the ambience of the place. The only downside was the WIFI access. It is quite poor and seems to only be available in the day room. However I think this is likely an easily fixed issue as we were the first of the season and we didn't bring up the issue with Marie. To be fair it didn't bother our party greatly as on this occasion none of us had intended to work but we do sometimes need to access work networks while away and this would have been very difficult. The most wonderful part of our holiday was being welcomed into Marie's home to meet her family and share lunch on our last day. We stayed for about 3 hours and chatted about life, politics and travel over wine and nibbles. One thing Marie doesn't tell you before you book is that she offers some massage/holistic packages which looked very tempting and had I been aware before we arrived I would likely have opted for one. When we visit the area again I will 100% book to stay with Marie again. Thank you being such a cordial host.
