The company is located about 2 km from the center of Abbateggio, a characteristic village in the Majella National Park, in Abruzzo, in a splendid panoramic position with a view that sweeps from the Majella and Morrone to those of Gran Sasso to the Adriatic sea. At the center of a 10-hectare property of fields and oak woods, 500 meters above sea level at the foot of Majella there are two characteristic stone farmhouses - one dating back to the second half of 800, the other to the 900 - in which are welcomed our guests. Large outdoor spaces are available for guests to rest and relaxation or stretching legs. Some particularly suggestive areas of the property will be for reading and meditation. Large outdoor spaces are available for guests to rest and relaxation or stretching legs. Some particularly suggestive areas of the property will be for reading and meditation. Other privileged places allow, during the night, to observe the stars lying in a meadow, far from sources of light pollution, and listen to the sounds of nature. Guests will be guided to the discovery of the forest wonders and helped in the recognition of the many tree species present: will thus be able to enjoy the beauty of the blooms of cyclamen in oak woods, or the surprising presence of several species of wild orchid (Orchis maculata L., Orchis purpurea Hudson) and countless others and lovely wild flowers (on Majella there are 2100 varieties of flora, equal to 1/3 of those present on the entire national territory). And with a little luck will encounter wild animals such as wild boars, deer, roe deer, pheasants, owls, foxes, squirrels and, in the mountains, numerous species of birds including the golden eagle, goshawk, peregrine falcon, lanner falcon, eagle owl and the dotterel. The company is also to visitors who wish to learn the traditional cultivation methods. There is produced barley, olive oil, wine, fruit and vegetables, all in small quantities, by ancient native species and with absolutely traditional methods.More

We stayed in Gli Olivi and were delighted with our choice. The apartment has a lot of character and charm and is set within a fruit tree and olive grove with stunning views towards the Gran Sasso mountains from some of the rooms. The location...More

About the neighbourhood
Abbateggio is located on the northern slopes of Majella along the road from the exit of Scafa (A25) leads to the popular Caramanico Terme spa town. It is 40 km from Pescara and 200 from Rome. The town of Abbateggio, the town hall, is 450 meters above the sea, in a beautiful panoramic position with views stretching from the Gran Sasso to the Adriatic sea. The district covers approximately 16 square kilometers between the shares of 210 and 1,200 meters above sea level. The landscape is so varied gradually assuming the appearance hilly, foothills and mountains. Nearby Abbateggio Giumentina we find the valley, site of important paleontological discoveries that testify to the sockets
Getting around
Colle della Selva, while being intact and little naturalistically populated area, is close to the inhabited centers of Abbateggio, Roccamorice and Sal Valentino, all within 30-60 minutes walk. These centers are available shops and you can find everything you will need during your stay. However, public transport links are so poor to reach the house is recommended to hire a car. Likewise, many of the historical and natural areas are within walking distance with a walk or two hours but some destinations of great interest, and that will be absolutely recommended, are within 30 to 50 kilometers so it may sometimes be useful having a car arrangement.
