Virtually equidistant from these four local towns, all boasting weekly markets, supermarkets and other modern amenities, the property is also ideally located for visiting the many and varied attractions of the Pays de la Loire including the cities of Le Mans, Angers, Nantes, Tours and Saumur with all they have to offer. The cottage has been fully renovated and equipped to a high standard including cooking and dining facilities. Unlike many rental properties, our furniture and fittings were bought new for the gites.With up to three double beds (one being a sofa-bed) in different rooms and a single sofa bed which can be placed in either bedroom and up to three separate bathrooms; if, as a platonic group you prefer separate facilities it is great for you too. Created from an old ground floor apartment and attic granary at one end of a traditional 400 year old 'Longere' Farmhouse which is part of a Lieu-Dit noted in the French Government Patrimoine (Heritage) lists; parts of the property are recorded as being built originally during the early 1600's, quite possibly during the reign of Louis XIV (The Sun King). It has a semi - enclosed rear garden for the exclusive use of the gite occupants and access to most of the rest of the surrounding gardens.More

Children are welcome in our gites, but it should be noted that we have limited special provision (such as toys, sports or outdoor play equipment) for entertaining them. Up to 2 pets are permitted in this gite. £25 per pet per week and security deposit increased to £150.00. Pets must remain downstairs at all times and are not permitted on the furniture.

perfect rural retreat

About the neighbourhood
Genneteil is an ancient rural community, with a Norman Church. It is well placed; major Cities, autoroutes and good road links surround us on all sides, essentially less than 1 hour in any direction. There is so much to see and do that it is difficult to know where to start! There are 1000s of sites of interest, Chateaux, extensive orchards, world famous Zoos, Rose gardens, Geological sites and the Loire valley vineyards. Our gite manual details the more local, quirky and lesser known places, local restaurants, walking and cycling routes and locations for fishing, riding etc.. We have a selection of tourist brochures across a wide spectrum of interests. Come and get a real feel for what is available - we are sure you won’t be disappointed!
Getting around
As we are in the middle of a rural area, your own transport is essential. Public Transport (buses) do run from and through local towns but they are unlikely to be suited to tourist visiting requirements. Trains (TGV & SNCF) run from Angers, Le Mans & Tours but these are all 45mins -1hour from our location.
