Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.
If you have submitted a review for a holiday rental property, we may also ask that you provide us with proof of your stay to ensure that your review is attached to the correct rental property.

Best Lunch in Fitts Village
We did not stay at the Guest House, but we have been several times for lunch at the Sunset Cafe. If you do not look for something fancy, but a simple yet very tasty lunch the Sunset Cafe (open on weekdays from 7am - 2 pm) is the place to go. Paul the owner is very friendly and helpful and the food is great, the Chicken and Vegetable Rotis are probably the best in that area. Prices are very reasonable. Also try the BBQ on Friday Nights.

Best-kept Bajan secret
You know when you find a little place and you walk away feeling like you've just stumbled upon the best-kept secret in town? You stop to ponder the delicious well-priced food but then find yourselves discussing just how darn friendly your hosts were? Well, allow us to burst your Bajan bubble and introduce you to the Sunset Cafe! When my wife and I booked an apartment in Fitts Village, we knew the dining options in our immediate vicinity were quite limited. As quick and easy as the ride to Holetown is, this is Barbados – trust me, within a few days you’ll fall in to the rhythm and want something right on your doorstep…. The fabulous operators of the Sunset Cafe are Paul and Aiesha. Paul’s cooking traverses a Bajan background, many years spent honing his craft in the Toronto service industry, aswell as culinary sojourns to destinations as far and wide as Italy and India. From 7am-2pm, Monday to Friday you can enjoy a well-varied menu with changing daily specials made from fresh locally sourced ingredients – our personal favourites included the ‘Bajan Breakfast’, Chicken Roti (the best on the island), and the BBQ Chicken with peas & rice. Paul also makes a mean café latte – the best I had in our entire trip. I haven't mentioned the stunning blue house aside the cafe – a painstaking labour of love that the pair recently built together and now run as the Turtle Shore Beach House (we would have loved to stay here had we have known – very nice both inside and out). The white and azure finish was inspired by Paul’s neighbourhood back in Toronto where the many Greek-centric houses of the same alluring colours once captivated him. More on the cafe though…. a recent new concept is Friday night BBQ‘s from 5-9pm – honestly this rivals the famous Oistens Fish Fry as the place to be on Friday night. Although the café has been operating for about six months now, oddly, most of the locals don’t even know it exists. In fact, Paul is the first to admit there is not much to it yet – it’s little more than shade canvas, a self-made countertop, chalkboard menu, plus a few tables & chairs. Whilst he and Aiesha certainly have ambitions for the place and expect it will find its own identity in time, the low-key vibe is really a charm unto itself. It’s like your friends – the ones you really like because they are fun and make great food – have invited you around to a BBQ at their place. It’s actually this emphasis on service and friendliness really sets Sunset Cafe apart (sadly, the general standard of restaurant service on the island really suffers with exception of the very high end fare – and even then it can be a touch forced). We really treasured our talks with Paul and Aiesha and were glad for their local tips and suggestions. My travel diary tells me we visited no less than seven times in eleven days. We enjoyed a ‘farewell to Barbados’ dinner lovingly prepared for us of grilled swordfish and Bajan sides – delicious! We even pre-arranged on the Saturday morning of our departure for an early take-away breakfast only to realise upon pickup that these guys aren’t even open on Saturdays – these lovely folks didn’t even think twice to mention it (not encouraging this though readers – it’s their day off!!!) Anyway, just get yourself down there – you really won’t find anything else like it on the island and you won’t regret it!

A home away from home!!!
My stay here felt like I was coming home. The owner made sure to offer me just the right amount of hospitality to make my family feel comfortable. The sunsets and the beach itself was remarkable. Waking up to such a view was something we will never forget. Then there was the food. We sincerely enjoyed it all. And the fact that we could make a request was amazing. Thanks again... We will be back. Comfort at its best. Where else can we enjoy a unspoiled beach without fighting crowds!!! Thanks ParsPlace!!!

Turtle Beach
Parsplace is in an ideal location. It's just north of Bridgetown, on the west side of the island, lending itself to nice, calm waters - ideal for snorkeling and diving. When I was there, baby Loggerhead turtles were hatching almost every day on the beach right in front of our building. There had to be a few hundred of them. The scenes were just as you see on television. What a treat!

The most relaxing spot. Ever.
Par's Place is one of the most relaxing places you could go for your vacation. If you really want to get away and be right on the beach, this is your place. There is a Supermarket right across the street with a pharmacy in it. You can also buy your rum there. The owner of the place is really great and will help you out in any way you need. The place is minutes from Hole-town if you feel like going out. But what I really like was the place felt off the beaten path but close to it.I would recommend this place to families all the way to couples looking for a great getaway.
