Dating back to 17th Century, our Grade II listed Yorkshire longhouse is located in the picturesque market town of Pickering, at the edge of the beautiful North York Moors National Park. The cottage is a fine example of a cruck-framed Yorkshire longhouse which was traditionally built to accommodate both family and cattle under one roof. It is featured alongside similar longhouses in Ryedale, in a book entitled 'Houses of the North York Moors' by Royal Commission on Historical Monuments. The house is brimming with character having a host of original features such as the oak cruck beams, stone flagged floors, exposed stonework, a traditional cast iron Victorian range with a 'smoke window' in the dining room.

The nearest station is Malton, approximately 10 miles away, which is accessible by bus or taxi. There is also the popular North York Moors railway, a heritage steam train from Pickering to Whitby. There is also a Moors bus service to visit the National Park and Dalby Forest. However, travel by car is probably the most convenient way to see the area.
