The Hayloft South Littleton
1 of 17The Hayloft South Littleton
Cottage -
2 Bedrooms , 2 Bathrooms , Sleeps 4
Blairgowrie, Perth and Kinross, Scotland
The Hayloft is a two bedroomed cottage converted from an 18th century traditional stone steading. Once a weavers cottage, the vertical wooden beams which supported the loom can still be seen in the kitchen/dining area. Visitors find its peaceful location an added bonus as they relax and recharge before heading off to explore the many sites and attractions in the surrounding area or taking part in their chosen pursuit. Many visitors choose to add to their relaxation by booking a massage or reflexology session with our on-site therapist and some come specifically for a week-long retreat. An added bonus is the spring water from our own private spring so no chlorine! All the water comes through a filtration system and is regularly tested by the local council.

About the neighbourhood
The red stone towns of Blairgowrie and Rattray lie on either side of the River Ericht where it emerges from spectacular gorges in Strathmore. By the end of the 18thC the Blairgowrie area was a huge centre for the growing of flax. Initially the linen weaving industry was home based but the first industrial mill was erected in 1798. More recently the area has become the focus of Perthshire's soft fruit growing, especially raspberries.
Nearby Rosemount golf course was designed by some of the great early names of Scottish golf and is considered one of the best inland courses in Scotland.
Between Blairgowrie and Dunkeld lies the Loch of Lowes, a Scottish Wildlife Trust reserve where you can watch otters or the rare osprey.
To the north lies the Spittal of Glenshee with Scotland's la...
