New for 2018 Sandown holiday chalet with WiFi in stunning coastal location

Chalet -
2 Bedrooms , 1 Bathroom , Sleeps 6
Sandown, Isle of Wight, England
We have just finished renovating our new chalet Wight Sails to a very high standard for the 2018 holiday season, and no expense has been spared to make it one of the best on the site. It is also dog-friendly, accepting 1 or 2 small or 1 medium sized dogs at an additional fee per dog per stay. We provide a fibre broadband WiFi for our own guests at no extra cost. The chalet is situated in a peaceful location with beautiful views to the front across the Downs, and the historic Yaverland Fort to the rear. There are ocean views from various points on the site. In just a few minutes walk through the site gates onto the coastal footpath, or by road, you will find safe, sandy beaches leading to all local amenities. It is a perfect haven for families and couples to relax and enjoy one of the sunniest spots in the UK, adjacent to the National Trus... Read more

About the neighbourhood
Yaverland - this magnificent bay is characterised by the craggy cliffs and clean, crisp waters. Quieter than the other beaches between and Shanklin (which stretch for 5 miles), Yaverland offers safe swimming and fossil hunting by the cliffs. There is the famous Tiger Zoo (Isle of Wight Zoo), Brown's Golf and the Dinosaur Isle museum just a short stroll away, plus a sailing club, and a variety of water sports. Yaverland is within the Isle of Wight's Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty (AONB). Sandown Bay encompasses a wide variety of important marine habitats and coastal features and is designated as part of the South Wight Maritime Special Area of Conservation.
Getting around
The diamond shaped Isle of Wight measures just 23 miles by 13 miles, and has 57 miles of beautiful coastline. It is also England's largest island. The Island has over 477 miles of roadways and over 500 miles of pathways and cycleways. There are also 203 scheduled monuments, 60 ancient monuments and 1910 listed buildings.

The Military Road (A3055) has been voted in the top 10 of best scenic roads in the UK. It runs from Chile to Freshwater Bay, and runs almost along the cliff edge with the sea to one side, rolling download the other. At high points you can see the whole coast laid out in front of you.
Car not needed
How to get there
Railway: Sandown or Brading: 2.0 km
The Isle of Wight is easy to get to, and once you are here you won't want to leave! It is, for example, less than an hour and half's journey from London by train and ferry, and is ideally located for English visitors looking for a holiday or short break, and easy to reach from all the major UK airports.

There are up to 200 Isle of Wight ferry crossings per day operating from Portsmouth, Southampton and Lymington. The main links operate for passengers into 5 different island towns - Ryde, Cowes, East Cowes, Fishbourne and Yarmouth - the latter 3 services also carry vehicles.

It is possible to manage without a car on the Island as it has a very good bus/train network, including a bus stop just a few metres from the holiday centre entrance.
