In the heart of Southern Brittany's beautiful countryside rests Bamboo Cottage. It is part of a small hamlet called Nevedic (meaning Little Sanctuary in Breton) within a conservation area, of which the peace and tranquility has hardly changed since the reign of Louis XIV. This beautiful stone cottage has a breathtaking vaulted ceiling, highlighting wonderful beams and exposed stone. A cycle/footpath runs beside the river passing through towns and hamlets to the coast in one direction or Pontivy in the other. This area is perfect for mountain biking, road cycling, trail running, kayaking and walking. The sandy beaches and rocky coves are easily reached by car and provide opportunities for sailing, windsurfing and swimming. Poul Fetan, the 16th Century Village of French Culture is 5 minutes walk away and makes for a perfect day out with costumed hosts reinacting life here in the past and a tavern selling local ciders and beers and Breton meals.More

About the neighbourhood
This is a beautiful rural area with riverside walks and. Hestnut forests. The woodland paths are very quiet and suitable for walking, trail running and cycling and the river has a broad towpath. We are within easy reach by car to the beaches and historic places of interest. Medieval towns with markets, ancient standing stones, and traditional Breton festivals can all be enjoyed in this unspoilt region.
Getting around
To fully enjoy this area you do need a car as public transport is very limited. It is however an excellent area for cycle touring due to the very low volume of traffic.
