Escape to the coast and relax in our unique 'cool caravan', situated right on the beach with uninterrupted sea and coastal views. The Broads at Ormesby and at Filby are just 3 or 4 miles away. The seaside attractions at Great Yarmouth are only 3 miles away. Accommodation More like a seaside cottage, our individually-styled 'cool caravan' offers all the 'home from home' comforts you would expect in a self-catering holiday home. Sleeping 4, the accommodation consists of:- • Double bedroom with TV/DVD, hairdryer • Twin bedroom (2ft 6' beds, can be pushed together) • Family bathroom (access from hall and main bedroom) small bath with shower over, and hand basin • Separate WC and hand basin • Fully fitted kitchen with range-style gas cooker, dishwasher, fridge with ice box (small freezer compartment), microwave, toaster, kettle, etc • Living room with corner sofas with stunning beach and sea views, round dining table; pull out small double bed (large single); TV/DVD, radio, CD player; gas fire, games and books Leads out onto an enclosed raised deck with sea and beach views. Gate from deck leads to 3 steps down to a grassed area alongside the caravan with sea views, bench table/seats and parking for up to two cars Laundry with washing machines and tumble driers and iron, payable on site WiFi available free of charge on fair use basis. Travel cot and high chair available free of charge on request. Please ask. Sleeps 4 If the weather takes a turn for the worse, there are throws, blankets and cushions to curl up in, magazines and books to read, candles for romantic suppers and a selection of DVDs, music and board games. There is also outdoor furniture for al fresco dining and soaking up the sun. Location The caravan is located at Caister-on-Sea, approximately 4 miles north of Great Yarmouth. It is sited at Elm Beach Caravan Park, which is a small, select, 4 star site that prides itself in offering a safe, peaceful and friendly environment where you can recharge your batteries and 'chill out'. There are no entertainment facilities, such as pubs, shops and recreation areas at this site. However, these are available within easy walking distance. It is also just a short walk into the centre of Caister. Outside the caravan, there is parking for up to two cars, and a grassy area for sitting out at bench table provided. As you walk outside you are literally a few steps from the sandy beach . The beach is quiet even in the height of summer. There is a cafe in Manor Road 5 minutes walk away, open all year round, and the quiet Never Turn Back pub next door. The centre of the village of Caister-on-Sea is only 5-10 minutes walk, with supermarkets, a fish shop selling fresh fish, a butchers and a bakery. There are also restaurants and take-aways eg Indian, Chinese and fish and chip shops. Great Yarmouth offers old fashioned seaside fun for all the family. It is possible to walk there along the beach, or take one of the regular buses from Caister. The Norfolk Broads are 5 minutes drive away, from where you can hire a boat or canoe, or walk or cycle along footpaths and boardwalks. The location is an ideal base to explore the Norfolk and Suffolk coastlines and quaint villages. The city of Norwich, perfect for shopping, is 1/2hr away by car. We bought the caravan on a whim, after visiting the Norfolk Broads and ending up at the coast. As we were standing on the beach it started snowing - it was magical. We thought how nice it would be to own one of the nearby caravans, overlooking the sea. And that's how we ended up buying a caravan. We are still amazed by how much this area has to offer, and how much more there is to discover. Whether you enjoy walking, sailing, fishing (directly on the beach), cycling, wildlife, photography, painting, the thrills of a seaside town, shopping, or just watching the world go by, there is something to suit everyone, of all ages. Minimum stay normally 7 nights. However we will consider a shorter break out of season - please ask for a quote. Arrival:- we do not live locally, so there is a key safe on the side of the caravan, so you can let yourselves in when you arrive.More

About the neighbourhood
The Park is quiet and peaceful. Caister-on-Sea is a village within 5 -10 minutes walk, and has everything you need in the way of shops, take-aways & restaurants. You can fish from the beach or even buy fish from a small boat landing their catch. Great Yarmouth is a traditional seaside town 3 miles away. It is possible to walk there along the beach - taking approximately 1 hour or catch a bus. There is a Pleasure Beach with night life and rides suitable for all the family, as well as night clubs, casino and places to eat out. You are bound to see seals bobbing their heads above the water directly in front of the caravan and if you are lucky, you may even spot the occasional dolphin or porpoise!
Getting around
Caister on Sea is 3 miles from Great Yarmouth. There are regular bus services to and from Great Yarmouth. There is a railway station on Great Yarmouth with links to London. A number of bus operators provide services to the local area including National Express and First Bus. By Rail: There is a regular local service from Norwich to Great Yarmouth, with connecting trains from Norwich to London, Liverpool Street, Peterborough, Cambridge and Ely. There are several places to hire a boat or canoe to explore the Norfolk Broads. Information leaflet are available in the caravan. There are also details of timetables for narrow gauge railways eg Bure Valley Railway, in the caravan.
