All you need clean,warm, comfortable well equiped house on three levels two shower rooms three bedrooms,four of us stayed but sleeps six.Some very interesting decorations,warm friendly welcome on arrival,would love to stay again.

About the neighbourhood
The Sycamores is located in the historic 'Lanes' part of Lerwick - in the area between the listed Town Hall and the main shopping street of Commercial Street. It is a quiet location, especially in the garden where you will hear the calls of seabirds rather than traffic. Busy during the day, Lerwick is quiet in the evenings (apart from Saturday). 30 second walk to Commercial Street - one minute to the jubilee flower gardens. Restaurants and good takeaways (Indian/Chinese/fish and chips) within 5-10 minutes walk.
Getting around
The Sycamores is located right in the middle of town and exploration by foot is the best option for the key sights (within 15 minutes) which include the esplanade, Commercial Street (for shopping), the main area for pubs/restaurants, the museum, Mareel arts complex, the Knab and the Clikimin Loch.

Further afield, the bus station which has low cost services to all parts of Shetland, including the Northern Isles is just 5 mins walk away at Viking Bus Station.

If you have a car, you will find Lerwick conveniently located for exploring all parts of the mainland Shetland or day-trips to Unst, Yell and Whalsay.

People arrive in Shetland either by Northlink Ferry, the 14hour overnight crossing from Aberdeen which lands in Lerwick, just a 5 minute taxi (20 min walk) away from the Sycamores or via Flybe/Loganair who fly from Aberdeen/Edinburgh/Glasgow to Sumburgh, the main airport some 25 miles south of Lerwick. There is a public bus service into town, taxis or car hire to make it to the Sycamores. We will provide you with full address details prior to your arrival.
