The kitchen is well equipped and you can spot squirrels from the sink!

Abigail was amazing. She kept in regular touch with me before we got there, providing a load of local information. She provided a lovely welcome pack for our arrival and kept in contact while we were there. The lodge amenities were amazing with absolutely everything you need. What a brilliant log cabin so near magical walks for us and our dogs and the cabin is cosy and really well equipped with everything one would need It is a home from home and very well situated

Additional Rate and Availability Information
Prices are inclusive of hotel quality bed linen, luxury, super soft towels and wifi internet. Travel cot, high chair, changing mat and baby bath are supplied for free. Short breaks ideally run from Monday to Friday (4 nights) and Friday to Monday (3 nights) although there is flexibility so do get in touch to confirm. Electricity is charged at cost (currently 12.04 per kwh) and taken from your deposit after your stay. We will supply you with the readings at the start and end of your stay and you can verify the readings using the meter key in the lodge.

About the neighbourhood
Ruskin Lodge is a short drive away from Dunoon, just south of Loch Eck, and on the edge of Argyll Forest Park. You can start your walks from the backdoor, with the famous Puck's Glen track beginning directly behind the lodges.
Getting around
A car is recommended but there are public transport options too. There are local bus stops at Benmore Botanical Gardens, Uig and Cot House and bus routes link the area to Dunoon, west to Portavadie, south to Ardentinny and north to Strachur, Loch Fyne and Inveraray. There is a car ferry route from Hunters Quay to McInroy Point and a passenger ferry from Dunoon to Gourock.

Travelling to Ruskin Lodge is a pleasure in itself and whether you are coming by ferry, car, boat or train the journey will take you through some glorious countryside.
Directions from Glasgow (via ferry):
Follow the M8 to Gourock then follow signs for the Hunter’s Quay ferry. After the 20 minute ferry journey, turn right and follow signs for the A815 to Strachur. Once you are on the A815 you will see a Forestry Commission sign for Pucks Glen and the Lodges are next track on your right. Look for the number 6 by the door to the lodge.
Direction from Glasgow (by road only):
Follow the A82 up Loch Lomond to Tarbat, then take the A83 until you see signs for the A815 just before Cairndow. Follow the A815 through Strachur and inland past Loch Eck
