The lodge is especially popular with couples seeking Romance, or just a little quality time together, in peaceful surroundings. There are lots of little extras provided to make one's stay enjoyable.

Life is fast-paced enough. Throw off your worries with a walk to Pucks Glen, or a visit to the Botanical Gardens. Or even relax with a good book on the deck or watch the river flow on by.

As Electricity, Bedding, Towels, Wi-fi and Parking Satellite TV are included you can really relax knowing that all your comforts are taken care of, with no nasty electricity bill on your departure. There's a log burner, too, with ample supplies for a night or two for when he weather chills.

The Location is so perfect, its beautiful and peaceful, nature on the doorstep. As for the lodge, its lovely everything you need is there i have never slept in a comfier bed even added little extras from the owners. There are great walks to go on and nearby places to eat out if you wish. We will definitely be returning....

Sorry I'm a bit late in writing my review, I've been working hard to save for our next visit! The log cabin was so cute and immaculate it's hard to articulate just how perfect it was. Me n partner like to go away every march just ourselves as we don't do Christmas to each other, and we felt so cacooned...

About the neighbourhood
Many visitors to the area love the rich diversity of hill, shore and forest. The area is famous for the lovely walks available, the forest tracks, waterfalls and gardens. If you are looking for Romance, fresh air, relaxation, in beautiful surroundings you will not be disappointed.

There is also an abundance of bird and wildlife in these parts. Red and Roe Deer, Red Squirrel, Heron, Curlew and Oystercatchers are frequently spotted nearby, whilst the area is also known to be home to the lesser spotted Otter, Pine Marten and Golden Eagle. The cabin is situated above and beside the River Eachaig, which is a delight in itself.
Getting around
A car is recommended to get the most from your stay, but there are public transport options too. Dunoon is just 6 miles by bus (regular from Cot HouseServices) or grab a taxi. There are fine tracks for cycling too, some on and some off road.

Travelling to HAWTHORN LODGE can be a delightful experience in itself. From Glasgow, choose to come by road via the beautiful Loch Lomond, or by road and ferry, crossing the Clyde Estuary by a 20 minute ferry crossing. Either can be a delightful experience

From Glasgow (by road only): Follow the A82 via Loch Lomond through Tarbet, along the A83, then A815. Pass the Botanical Gardens and the Pucks Glen Car Park, take a right turn into Rashfield, then right again. HAWTHORN is signed (90 mins).

From Glasgow (via ferry): Follow the M8 through Gourock to McInroys Point and board the ferry (20 mins crossing). Leaving ferry, turn right and and follow A815 towards Strachur, pass the Cot House Services, then first LEFT into Rashfield (90 min)
