This lovely thatched cottage is full of charm and character and has been furnished with quality items and fittings throughout. Sleeps up to 4 guests Two double bedrooms (one king and one double) Cot and high chair available on request Upstairs bathroom with walk in shower Wood-burner in the sitting room All new fitted kitchen with electric range cooker Spacious entrance hallway with ample room for boots, coats, etc. Lovely private and enclosed garden with steam running through Large patio with outside table and chairs Off road parking for two cars Up to two dogs welcome for supplement of £15 each Wifi, heating and electricity included Towels and bed linen provided Arrive from 4 pm Depart by 10 am Entrance to the cottage is via the large hallway to the rear, at one end is a couple of comfortable chairs - a lovely spot to watch the birds in the garden. The kitchen-dining room and sitting room make up the rest of the ground floor. The stairs (after the cottage is named) wind up from the sitting room to the first floor. The two double bedrooms are both off the hallway and the bathroom is at the far end, with lovely views over the surrounding fields. Dog are welcome (maximum of 2) for supplement of £15 per dog. Please do not leave your dogs alone in the property or allow them on the furniture. The kitchen has recently been installed from scratch, with a butler sink and wooden worktops. All new appliances include.... electric range cooker with 3 ovens, large fridge freezer, microwave and wine fridge. The kitchen has under floor heating. In the utility/hall area to the rear of the kitchen, there is a washing machine and tumble dryer. Two armchairs to the far end allow for a wonderful view of the garden and the bird feeders. The sitting room has a large inglenook fireplace with wood-burner. A basket of logs and kindling will be provided in the cooler months. Further logs can be purchased in the town. The cottage has new heating fitted throughout, which can be adjusted within each room to suit your preferences. Heating and electricity are included in the price of the accommodation. There is a TV and DVD player with a small collection of recent DVDs. Wifi and sky television is available at no extra cost. The bathroom has a large walk-in shower plus a heated towel rail and underfloor heating. Bed linen, towels and tea towels are provided. Cot and high chair available if requested in advance. The cottage was built in the 16th century and there are many exposed original features. As a result of its age the property does have uneven floors upstairs and some low beams, all of which add to it's character. Because of the steep winder stairs, this property would not be suitable for someone with restricted mobility. Winder Cottage is approached via a country lane, which crosses a ford then it's a short distance up the track to the cottage. The double gates open into the the drive/courtyard area in front of the cottage. There is a formal patio area at the far end of the cottage with outside table and chairs for making the most of the glorious views of the garden and surrounding fields. There is a secured gas BBQ which can be used. Under no circumstances must a charcoal BBQ or fire be lit in the garden due to the presence of thatch. The gardens are a mixture of delightful cottage garden and fruit/vegetable area. Depending on the time of year there will be plenty of fruit to indulge in at Winder Cottage. At the rear of the lawned area, there are a few shallow steps beneath an arch that lead to a small stream. There is plenty of visiting wildlife, including rabbits, pheasants, sheep and numerous small birds. The garden is secure for dogs and children, but please be mindful of accompanying small children due to the dangers of the stream. There is parking for a car on the drive in front of the cottage, inside double gates. There is additional parking opposite the cottage in front of the garage.More
