Amazing New Year experience!

What a beautiful place, and amazingly taken care of by Peter. He was incredibly accommodating and thoughtful in hosting us, and the house was absolutely perfect - easy to cook for large groups, great spaces to be with friends, and very close to the town centre.

Best Hen do weekend!

We hired the house for a long weekend for my best friends hen do and it was absolutely fabulous! Peter and Luisa were the perfect hosts making the weekend a breeze. The house is so well equipped, each bedroom is beautifully presented and comfortable. The hot tub was well used and the ladies loved relaxing in there of an evening. Cooking at the house was no problem with the big range cooker and additional integrated cooker. Great spaces in the dining room and living room for games. Only feedback I would give is possibly another fridge as we wanted to cook all weekend for 23 ladies and struggled with fridge space on and off. Other than that 10/10 best weekend. We went to Dedham to rent boats and have a picnic, we then had 'Hens with Pens' come to the house for a naughty life drawing class which was hilarious! We also went to Anglia Go Karting which was a great activity for a few hours, followed by lots of games at the house and a karaoke night.

Best weekend EVER!

I am writing this on behalf of my partner who booked as it was for my 30th birthday celebrations. The house looks impressive in the photos but in the flesh it is just every bit that more special. It is the perfect setting to have the privacy we all want and the space to be together also. Since being back whenever I see my friends who attended, we all just talk about how we wish we could be back in that cosy sitting room by the fire, or in the hot tub living the life. I hope someday something else huge needs celebrating because I can’t wait to book this place again. Thank you so much to the amazing host who made the whole booking and weekend beyond easy. You won’t regret booking this home for a stay.

Beautiful old house very well restored with all mod cons.2 minutes walk to the waterfront but with a secluded courtyard giving privacy and security.The children loved the hot tub.A wonderful place for a break where all the family can enjoy themselves.

Comfortable, Spacious, Quirky Party House in a Perfect Location

We booked Old Neptune to celebrate our 50th Wedding Anniversary with family and friends. The age range was from 2yrs to 87 yrs and it was perfect for everyone. The children loved exploring the "hidden" staircases and everyone liked their quirky but comfortable bedrooms. All but two have ensuite facilities and although those two share a bathroom, that was no problem at all. The location is fabulous, right by the marina on the River Orwell of which we took full advantage with a boat trip, walks and coffee stops. The photos make it look like somewhere in the South of France! Host Luisa met us on arrival to explain everything about the house. Everything was in good order with plenty of cooking space, dishwashers, crockery, cutlery etc. The games room, lounge and dining hall were all fantastic although we were blessed with such good weather that the courtyard was in constant use. All in all we had a wonderful three days and I can't think of anywhere better to have celebrated

The perfect house for a relaxing getaway!

The Old Neptune is honestly such a beautiful house I don't think words can accurately describe it's beauty - it's something you need to see in person! The house comprises of a beautiful kitchen, living area, games room and 13 bedrooms. Each bedroom is unique in its own way and I love how each had different decor and some even had themes which was so cute! There is also a hot tub which is such a great bonus to the house and we all loved it so much! The house itself is located literally a few steps away from Ipswich harbour and you honestly think you're abroad! This house is perfect for a large group get-together with many shops, pubs and restaurants nearby and within walking distance. Honestly highly recommend this house for large groups especially if you're planning any parties/celebrations - have nothing to fault with it!

Fantastic place to have a meet-up with a larger group of friends

The Old Neptune is a unique large house by the harbour in Ipswich. It is a 15th century house and full of character. With 13 double rooms it works really well for a larger group of friends to meet up and spend time together. Our group have now been on a number of occasions for various celebrations.The hosts are highly responsive and helpful and have set things up to ensure a great experience for their guests. Being in the heart of Ipswich there is ready access to shops and other amenities.

Fantastic stay

Absolutely brilliant stay, could not fault anything. Peter was very welcoming nothing was too much trouble. Hubby had a very memorable 70 birthday surprise. Location is beautiful the marina is beautiful and peace full. Plenty of places to eat. Would definitely stay again. The rooms all have a theme they are all different and lovely. Very very clean,beds all comfortable beautiful clean sheets all fresh and crisp, just cannot fault. The open fire in the lounge is amazing and so cosy and warm. Hot tub was an extra treat. Absolutely loved it could go on for ever amazing.

Wonderful Venue

I booked this venue for a long weekend with a large goup of friends, 18 of us in total. It was wonderful. Very clean and every single bedroom and bathroom was well decorated. All the bedrooms were so different and interesting. The kitchen was very well equipped. Lots and lots of glasses, plates, saucepans plus plenty of fridge space. The linen and towels provided were lovley. Hot tub and sounds system were also amazing Peter was very helpful and gave us a great tour of the venue at the beginning. The location is great too... a stones throw away from the docks and all the bars and restaurants there. It is also 5 minute walk into the town centre. It was a really wonderful weekend and we were very sad to leave.

Awesome Venue

We had the best time here, nothing was too much trouble for Peter, he made everything so easy. Would really recommend this place, fantastic for group fun
