Lapradelle is simply a very beautiful place. We say it's 'for romantics only', for lovers of the countryside, of France profonde, of village life, of history, of fauna and flora – or of lazing on the roof terrace enjoying the view under a warm sun.

You enter the house through the hallway. To your right is one of the two twin bedrooms, followed by the shower room with shower cubicle, basin and w.c. You progress to a small kitchenette and the door into the garden. Next to the kitchenette and tucked away at the back of the house is the small single bedroom, a nice little snuggery perhaps for a youngster with independent leanings!

On the first floor are your double bedroom and one twin bedroom, the bathroom with bath, wc and shower cubicle, and the separate w.c. The kitchen is well equipped and next to a 'pantry'...

We shall send you keys in advance to allow you to arrive at your convenience. We also send papers giving directions, places to visit within 50 miles, and details of the house itself. We shall not been in the area during your stay and our cleaner lives some miles away, so to a great extent you will have to look after yourselves.

About the neighbourhood
The Commune of Lapradelle/Puilaurens lies in a valley surrounded by Pyrenean foothills. The main road from Perpignan to Quillan runs through the village, but your house is set well back from the road in the adjacent hamlet of Lavagnac. It is a five/ten minute walk from the house to the shops for your morning croissants. In Lapradelle itself, there is a general store and a restaurant. Other shops may appear during the summer and then disappear to return the following year. Your street, Rue du Cabanot, turns into a footpath after 100 yards or so, and from there it is a lovely walk down the valley to Caudiès, stop for a drink and then return through forest paths on the other side. How to get there
Airport: Perpignan or Carcassonne: 56.0 km
Railway: Quillan: 18.0 km
We send you directions in advance. Carcassonne and Perpignan airports are pretty well equidistant from Lapradelle. It is a beautiful drive in either direction, and not difficult. Only take care on the spectacular drive through the gorges between Quillan and Axat. From Toulouse Blagnac international airport to Carcassonne it is motorway all the way. You can shorten the journey from Toulouse to Quillan by cutting the corner, from Castelnaudary to Limoux. There is a train from Quillan to Carcassonne. The little tourist train from Axat via Lapradelle to near Rivesaltes is for pleasure rather than for getting from A to B.
