Holiday Rental House
This beautiful, historic townhouse is ideal for groups or families with older children, but also makes a cosy retreat for couples, to get away from the hustle and bustle of life. It is situated in a traditional area of malta and is away from the touristy, expensive areas which give a tacky view of malta. All the bedrooms are air conditioned meaning you can enjoy a good night sleep. The townhouse has an internal courtyard with large heated plunge-pool/Jacuzzi, great for relaxation during the midday sun or with a glass of wine at night. As the jacuzzi is heated it can be used any time of day, even in the summer many unheated pools in Malta are often too cold to use all day. The Mill room, a large vaulted ceilinged lounge, is one of the remaining few left in Malta. The Morning room, next to the kitchen, offers a relaxing space to enjoy breakfast. There is a bakers and patisserie just round the corner selling traditional maltese bread and pastries which make for a great cheap snack to take back to the house and enjoy round the jacuzzi. This townhouse is packed full of history and features that date back many centuries, some foundation stones are even from the times of the Roman Empire. It is also within driving distance of local sandy beaches. A car is therefore recommended, but the buses in Rabat go to the main terminal in Valetta, allowing for travel across the island. A booklet will also be left inside the house, detailing places of interest as well as great dining establishments. Please note that as per our suitability policy the first floor bedrooms and the roof terrace are only accessible via an internal spiral staircase. This means that the house is not that suitable for those families with young children or adults with limited mobility. More

This is a quirky place with a huge amount of space and character. The bedrooms are large with comfortable beds, plenty of linens and good aircon. Downstairs stays cool naturally with its thick stone walls and small windows. The kitchen is a little disappointing; poorly...More

About the neighbourhood
Rabat offers a number of impressive churches, with some of the oldest catacombs in the world. It also has many restaurants within walking distance of the house. Rabat is next to Mdina, the 'Silent City', with some impressive buildings and spectacular views. Mdina must be enjoyed both in the day and at night. The main festivals in Rabat take place over Easter and the summer months and are impressive sights with fireworks and parades. These are great for all the family. In rabat many of the locals come together during the festivals to celebrate bringing the streets alive- a must see. Over christmas there are also many traditional festivities that take place. Nearly all of the sandy beaches which are found in Malta are only a short drive away. Directions to which are to be found in the booklet left in the house.
Getting around
There are many local buses from Rabat connecting with Valletta and the rest of the island. These are very frequent and the cost of tickets is low. If you want to visit Gozo or some of the more remote beaches you will need a car.
