Victory Cottage is a beautiful thatched chocolate box cottage, set in a quiet location within Cottesmore village with countryside views to the front and village church to the rear of the cottage. Victory Cottage is 4 miles away from
Stretton Lakes free fishing and 5 miles from Rutland Water.
The cottage is complemented by an abundance of period-style features, a very homely cosy feel, all comforts are provided, contemporary kitchen and bath/shower rooms. Antique style electrical fittings and subtle lighting.
The cottage sleeps 4 guests, two double bedrooms with king-size beds and a single bedroom with single bed.

Perfect location
Stayed at Victory Cottage in early July for a short break with a friend and my dog. Cottesmore is a small village with everything you need…….fish and chip shop, pub and small store. The thatched cottage is situated in a quiet no through lane at the rear of the church. It has a secure garden with garden furniture in a sunny spot. (Perfect for our late afternoon G&T’s). Well equipped, cosy lounge, clean, beautiful kitchen, quiet location, off road parking, spacious bedrooms, two bathrooms, three toilets. Our favourites locally were Hambleton bakery cafe, Rutland water, Stamford, Hambleton peninsula and last but not least the local pub (5 minute walk)……the Sun Inn, where we found delicious food, wonderful staff and friendly locals. Thankyou Victory Cottage, we hope to return.

COTTAGE of a VERY HIGH STANDARD
This is a lovely cottage set in a quiet location yet only minutes from the local shop and pub in Cottesmore. The cottage was booked through Cottage.Com with a quality rating on 5*Gold – luxury.
Upon arrival we found the cottage offered a comforting and welcoming clean presence. The welcome pack was gratefully received. All the rooms were clean, the bedroom and bathrooms were of a good size, and we found the beds very comfy. The bathrooms provided excellent shower facilities and the bath sheets and towel robes were a lovely feature. Unfortunately there were a couple of upstairs niggle points, only 4 clothes hanger per wardrobe, and the second bedroom did not have a full length mirror only a small round mirror at head height.
• Unfortunately after showering the whole cottage developed a low frequency hum for some time, that appeared to be emanating from the water tank cupboard in the master bedroom.
The kitchen with its large fridge, freezer and gas hob was functional but unfortunately lacked many facilities that you would expect to find in a 5*Gold luxury rated cottage.
• There was no non-stick frying pan, just a saute pan that was most definitely not non-stick ( we resulted to purchasing are own frying pan )
• Only 4 mugs, yet all other crockery supplied in 8s ( for ever washing mugs )
• No bread bin
• No small glass tumblers ( whisky size ) though a good selection of wine and large tumblers.
• No kitchen surface cleaner – just washing up liquid supplied
• Only 2 dish washer tablets supplied !
• No spare under worktop refuse bin bags
• No recycling information
• Strip light under cabinet hanging
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Victory Cottage, the cottage is very comfortable and definitely 5* standard, though the rating of Gold could be questioned, but based upon our observations we considered the “luxury”rating to be misleading.
