Perched on its own 4 acre wooded valley surrounded by apple and pear orchards, Quinta do Bom Vento offers stylish self catering accommodation just 7km from Obidos and Buddha Eden. The original farmhouse, barn, stables and wine press have now been converted to offer 4 character filled homes each with their own individual access, private terraces and bbq areas. As life long sailors we have named each 'quintinha' after bodies of water that we have sailed in and being the largest, The Pacific is aptly named with 2 double bedrooms the upstairs of course being named the North Pacific and the lower the South Pacific. Children tend to love the North Pacific and we can easily put a single trundle bed in here to give flexibility for a family of 5. The Pacific has double doors from both the lower bedroom and dining area on to 2 terraces for outdoor relaxation. The Pacific also has a pellet burner should the weather not cooperate. Quinta do Bom Vento is NOT a box villa on a golf course it is a uinque place for people who want to relax somewhere different in style, whilst they enjoy exploring the delights of the Silver Coast. A perfect family cottage with the warmest welcome
Sam and Rich have created a lovely oasis in Obidos. If you are traveling between Lisbon and Porto and are looking for a home base along the way, you can't do better than this. It is so great for a family to have the space to spend downtime together, as well as a well-equipped (and stocked!) kitchen so you don't have to eat every vacation meal out. Every detail has been seen to here. Sam and Rich's previous experience in the charter-boat business serves them well: there are so many thoughtful personal touches. The dogs, Scrabble and Bingo, are adorable, and if you enjoy a competitive round of Scrabble, you'll find it here for sure. The pellet stove kept us toasty warm, but we're hoping to come back sometime when it's not raining! Wishing too that we had a little longer to linger. (If you're staying here, enjoy adventure, and are willing to drive about 40 minutes, we also highly recommend you arrange a jeep tour with Rui at Naturumm.) Thank you for your generous hospitality, Sam and Rich! It was so great to meet you!

Realmente INSUPERABLE!!!!
La casa rural es fantástica, aunque para llegar la primera vez, hay que ir atentos porque no es fácil. Muy acogedora y muy cómoda. A pesar de que estaba lloviznando los 3 días, disfrutamos una barbaridad. Íbamos con 3 niños de 8, 5 y 2. Ellos encantados con "su casa" de Portugal, muy calentita. Pero lo mejor de la casa... los caseros Sam y Rich. Nos recibieron junto con Papa Noel, que ya para los peques fue inolvidable. Nos lo hicieron todo muy fácil, cualquier pequeña duda se volcaban en resolverla. Sus consejos de posibles visitas, acertadísimos. Todo un descubrimiento la casa y agradecidísimos a Sam y Rich por sus atenciones, posiblemente los mejores caseros que hemos tenido nunca, y solemos visitar 2/3 casas rurales al año... La casa llena de detalles y regalos para los peques (que disfrutaron muchísimo) y para los no tan peques también un buen puñado de ellos que hicieron inolvidable la estancia. De corazón, si has llegado hasta aquí y estás pensando alquilarla, hazlo, acertarás seguro.

Excellent Stay and Hospitality
We were greeted very warmly and with open arms upon our arrival. The owners of the property were incredibly hospitable and made the stay very relaxing for both us and our 3 children. There are some incredible beaches and beautiful towns within approx 30 min drive.

Thank you for your review - how you found the time with your lovely 3 children I don't know! Pleased that the sleeping arrangements worked out too. We loved the children's Portuguese holiday song - their rapid learning of Portuguese puts us to shame though!

Quinta do Bom Vento (QBV) is perched on the slopes of its own 4 ½ acre wooded valley yet only 7.5kms from the picture perfect medieval walled town of Obidos. We are also the same short distance from the unique and fabulous Buddha Eden – the largest oriental garden in Europe The fields around QBV are filled with pear and apple orchards providing a bucolic and calm retreat, yet there is a choice of beaches to choose from all within half an hour from your home base – Foz do Arelho, Supertubos, Baleal, Ferrel, Peniche em Cima. In addition a day in the capital of Lisbon is easily doable either by catching a regular bus from Obidos or an easy 1hr drve, Sao Martinho, Nazare and Alcobaca are all within 45 mins too!
