Captain’s House is situated on the second and third floor of a historic building (National Heritage) from 1652.
The location of the apartment is right in the heart of the old city, in a residential and pedestrian street making it easy to reach and a perfect base to explore the city by foot, bike or public transportation.
We believe that a holiday is so much more comfortable in a clean environment, so we put extra effort to deliver a sparkling clean apartment.
On arrival and leaving luggage will be brought up and down for you.
Also on arrival I take you on a tour through the neighborhood to show you the nice places to eat and shop.
The first floor consist the Master bedroom with a large double bed. Bathroom with rain shower and toilet. There is also an extra separate toilet.

The absolute maximum guests is 4, it is ileagal for me to rent out to 5 even if this is a baby.
Nobody else is allowed into the apartment besides the guests without consent of the owner.
I do not take young groups, we live in the apartment below it and experience proves this is not a working match.
Smoking is not allowed, if it happens damage deposit will be claimed for extra cleaning and dry cleaning curtains etc.

Perfectly central
Arjen met us at the house , it was 11.30 pm on the Tuesday evening. Next morning gave us a tour of the area.
We were ideally placed for all major attractions . Near to China town for great foods.
Good traditional pubs ..
Would highly recommend a stay here . Our Eurostar was cancelled because of a huge storm but Arjen let us stay another night no problem .

Lovely well equipped apartment and great host
Unfortunately we visited Amsterdam at a difficult time but we couldn’t have stayed at better apartment.The apartment it’s self was clean spacious well equipped and Arjen the host was brilliant he constantly kept us updated on the Coronavirus situation and measures within the city.On our last couple of days all restaurants , cafes and pubs we’re closed by the Dutch government. Luckily we managed to get enough shopping in to enjoy the apartment to it’s full potential with the well equipped kitchen.
Anything else we needed Arjen was more than happy to help with.
We also enjoyed sitting outside on the rooftop terrace sipping wine and beer whilst soaking up the spring sun.If we hadn’t been staying in such a great apartment with the added bonus of Arjen making us comfortable our stay would not have been so enjoyable.Many thanks Arjen hope to be visiting again when this Coronavirus situation is all over and fully enjoy Amsterdam.

Just to let everybody know, things are looking up in Amsterdam: Curve is declining sharply and measures are lifted one by one. Hopefully we are soon back to some normal state of living in good health.

We Loved Our Stay in Amsterdam!
The apartment was perfect for us. Very cozy and nicely furnished, with everything we needed. The location is great-walking distance to almost everything with lots of nice restaurants and shops nearby. Arjen was an amazing host. He personally showed us around the neighborhood, pointing out which restaurants were the best and where to get groceries etc. I hope someday I get to come back!

Fantastic host in historic home
Our family was very comfortable and treated very well by the host at this beautiful old home. The amenities are all very modern and clean. The bathrooms are also very nice and offer a powder room in addition to a full bathroom. The proximity to everything in the city is ideal for a fun walking experience. The host was helpful not only in providing city information, but also helped us with our airport transportation that was helpful! I hope to return again and stay here.

Fantastic historic home
We had an outstanding experience at Arjun's place. The flat occupies the top two stories of an historic home. Arjun, the owner, lives on the first floor and is supremely hospitable, helpful and available if needed. The house is centally located within a residential neighborhood on a quiet, lovely cobblestone street, yet within walking differences of the central attractions. The kitchen is large and well-stocked with cooking utensils and supplies. Highly recommended.

A well-situated, well-maintained winner
The Captain’s House fully met our expectations and contributed to our enjoyment of a week in Amsterdam. Our group -- my husband, college-aged daughter and I – felt warmly welcomed by Arjen who was most generous with his time as he acquainted us with the rental and then walked us around the environs, offering a wealth of helpful advice on topics such as dining, shopping, sightseeing and local culture. The property combined visible charms of its historic origins with modern elements contributing to comfort and safety. It was a special experience to stay in an architecturally authentic and characteristically Amsterdam neck-gabled townhome. Arjen is meticulous about maintenance – lovely, fresh paint everywhere. The staircases have been modernized to make them as safe as possible in the restricted space. My family prefers an accommodation equipped for cooking, and while the kitchen area in this property is not extensive, we found it had everything we needed to prepare and enjoy breakfasts and dinners. The location of the Captain’s House worked wonderfully, placing us within walking distance of everything we wished to see and do in the city.

Great Apartment. Wonderful Landlord.
We do rate Captain's House as excellent as well as the landlord (Arjen) who
takes time to make the accommodations as comfortable as possible. The apartment
location is an easy walk to restaurants, which are filled with locals, not tourists,
and is close to public transportation. Arjen gave us a walking tour, offered
suggestions for restaurants and for shopping and shared historical information
about the area. He lives next door and is just a text or call away. The apartment
is located on the second floor and requires a walk up two flights to the bedrooms
and another to the living room/kitchen. This, of course, is common for houses
in the historical section and won't be an issue for most people. You'll enjoy
Amsterdam if you stay in this apartment.

Oasis of calm in the Middle of Everything
Captain’s House is a wonderful Apartment, close to Amsterdam Centraal Station and the old Centre of Amsterdam itself.
Yet it feels more like the suburbs, quiet and away from the tourist throng.
It is walking distance to the major sights as well as the tram to the Museum district.
Our host Arjen met us and gave a brief tour of the neighbourhood, pointing out good local shops an restaurants.
On the days where rain was forecast, there were umbrellas waiting for us in the hall.
Captain’s House highly recommend.

Cinque giorni fantastici
All'arrivo il proprietario, molto gentile e disponibile, si è presentato puntuale e, dopo averci mostrato la casa, ci ha accompagnato a fare un veloce giro nel quartiere per mostrarci ristoranti e market.
L appartamento è pulitissimo fornito di ogni prodotto sia per la cucina che per il bagno, numerosi gli asciugamani.
È spazioso e molto confortevole e silenzioso, letti comodi, wifi perfetto.
La posizione è ottima perché è accanto alla stazione centrale e a piedi si possono visitare le attrazioni principali della città.

Eine super Ferienwohnung - nur ein paar Fuß-Minuten vom Hauptbahnhof entfernt und doch ruhig gelegen, mit allem Luxus ausgestattet, der unseren Urlaub noch entspannter macht - separate Bäder, ebenerdige Dusche, Balkon, Mikrowelle, bequeme Sofas, großer Fernseher ...
Vielen Dank an Arjen für den netten Kontakt vor und während unseres Aufenthalts, den privaten Stadtrundgang, den Tipps zu besuchenswerten Restaurants sowie - last but not least - den mit Getränken gut gefüllten Kühlschrank.
Wir freuen uns jetzt schon darauf, bald wiederzukommen.
