Shabby and dissappointing
My husband and I always
go self catering as we often eat in and had particularly picked this apartment from the photographs
shown, sadly the photographs did not reflect the apartment.
When we first arrived, the front entrance was really shabby and covered with weeds and broken tiles
at the front door, when we opened the door the entrance hall right up to the top floor was dirty, and
really uninviting ( I appreciate builders where in ) at night time the bulbs didn't work the whole way
up so we tried to manage those stairs in the dark, which was very dangerous.
The flat itself was not clean, the oven was not clean, the toaster was not clean, the fridge had someone's
had someone else's left over food in it. The crockery was chipped and the cutlery drawer was dirty.
As for the roof terrace it was covered with weeds and cigarette buts, not at all like the picture on the website and although
BBQ advertised there wasn't one. I do appreciate however they got us the bean bags to sit on, thankfully as the seat covers
for the other chairs were dirty and ripped in places.
The flat itself is littered with other people's belongings, we opened cupboards to find shoes and
shirts etc and the furniture is tired and worn ( not the furniture shown in the website )
On a plus side the bed was comfortable and nicely presented although the heard board and bedside cabinets
were covered in dust.
We paid a cleaning fee of €35.00 euros to stay here and I hope you can see why we were disappointed .
I have enclosed the photos to show you are issues and hopefully will help to improve the standard
of what could be a nice apartment.

Perfect
I can't tell you how perfect this little apartment was for our trip. My only regret is that we didn't visit in the summer. Visiting in February meant that we couldn't take full advantage of the rooftop terrace. I expect in the summer months this apartment would have been even better!
The location of the apartment was great, it was in a nice, safe area had excellent transport links (bus and tram). In addition to this there was a bike rental store below us and two supermarkets within 5 mins walking distance. It is a little out of the centre of Amsterdam so prepare for a half hour walk to get to any of the attractions (or use transport as mentioned). Other than this the location couldn't have been any better.
On arrival just follow Guido's instructions by getting the bus. The apartment is just across the road from the bus stop. One important tip: you MUST press the button as soon as you know your stop is coming up. We thought the bus would stop at every stop on its route but apparently not...which meant a long walk when we missed our stop!!
The apartment itself was beautiful, it was clean, had lovely views and was well equipped. Guido (the owner) was lovely and really helpful, on our arrival he gave us a run through of the apartment and the local amenities, he really went above and beyond to be welcoming. If I had to list some cons they would be that a few aspects of the apartment could be improved - some of the paint was a bit worn in places and the bathroom looked a bit unloved BUT these points are merely me being fussy.
We loved the apartment so much that during our stay we were reluctant to leave it and couldn't wait to get home after a day of exploring.
We would DEFINITELY come back and visit Amsterdam, if only to use this apartment again.
Just one final note: the apartment is up several flights of stairs with no lift so is NOT suitable for disabled access.

ROOFTOP BLISS
Had a few nights here at the start of January, apart from the weather we had a great time staying here. The apartment itself is spacious, comfortable and offers all the comforts of home. I would love to spend time here when the weather is better and take full advantage of the barbecuing facilities. If your a smoker, with the exception of hostels in the city centre its impossible to find smoking friendly places to stay. This is the next best thing with just a few stairs to your own terrace.
With just a short 10 min tram ride into town ( tram stop is 30 sec walk from apartment ) its ideally placed to offer the best of the city centre but also with a supermarket, bar and a few restaurants locally which are no where near as expensive as the city centre.
The trip was also made very easy by Guido the apartment owner.
Replied promptly to my emails, always available on the telephone and no waiting about to pick up keys.
All in all had a great time and when I go back to Amsterdam this is where I'll stay

Fantastic little apartment in a great spot!
This is an excellent apartment, very clean and tidy, lovely decoration/furnishings and very cosy and modern with a homely feel. The landlord was very welcoming and extremely helpful. Told us everything we needed to know about the apartment and more than enough to get started with our first visit to the city.
It's pretty near the edge of town but not mega close to the centre, we walked a couple of times and it's at least 45 mins to the middle of the city but there are two main tram routes that both run super-frequently from right outside the apartment as well as a host of bus services. One actually stops pretty much on the doorstep and we even managed a bus back on new year's eve no trouble so you'd never need to walk if you didn't want and we never waited longer than 10 mins for transport. Plus there are a lot of attractions along the way including the Vondelpark and Van Gogh museum.
Also the street outside has everything you'd need, cafes, restaurants, shops, deli's, wine shop, even a hairderesser. Great spot, friendly owner and lovely property.

PERFECT ROOFTOP RETREAT
This apartment is the perfect Amsterdam home away from home equipped with everything you need and more everything was clean and as we booked :-) the rooftop area boasts outstanding view over this stunning city with great seating area and chairs it also has plug sockets and lantern for candles its a perfect spot. morning and night.
The lounge area is so comfy for chilling for cosy nights in with dvds to watch this is a top class apartment the shower room/toilet is small and compact to say the least but does its job :-)
The bedroom is a fair size with a comfy bed and 2 windows and ample storage.
The kitchen was very well equipped with everything and also the basic essentials salt pepper ect which was nice, the coffee machine is a nice touch :-)
also has a dinning table.
We loved this apartment the perfect city break the transport links are amazing and run nearly all day and night.the trams are great value for money for unlimited tram, bus and trains if you buy a 24hr or a 48hr ticket.
I would totally recommend this apartment to anyone apart from anyone who has mobility issues as it a steep climb up 4 flights of stairs and then again from apartment to the roof area. but totally worth it
Guido who owns the apartment was very helpful before and when we arrived gave us good information and bought us a lovely bottle of bubbly as it was our first wedding anniversary ;-)
10/10 from us

Perfect
It's near by Vondelpark and from there you can reach every part of the city very quickly by bike.we loved to ride the bike in the park before going to town every morning!! The best thing was the roof terrace: there is nothing better than eating a good gouda with a glass of wine with such a beautiful view!! The apartment was very clean and Guido (the owner) was very nice and gave us some good advices! We will come back!
