Cosy apartment in 400 y.o. building with a contemporary interior. Safe and quiet neighbourhood, but close enough to walk downtown or catch a bus. Short tram ride to the museum district.
Enjoyed our stay with a helpful host. Highly recommended.

Keep in mind "1st floor apartments" in Europe are on the 2nd floor. I'm very glad we thoroughly read comments regarding this location prior to our arrival. We discovered that the Amsterdam Airport has luggage storage services so we were able to drop off our large pieces of luggage prior to checking in at the apartment. Emmy was very helpful in letting us drop off our small pieces of luggage prior to checking in. The property is in a quiet, nice neighborhood -- with easy access to public transportation which was perfect for us. We loved the charm of the property -- and, the Amsterdam stairs were easy to navigate since we didn't have our bulky suitcases with us. Would definitely recommend this property if you're looking for a place out of the crowds and bustle of the trendy areas.

Emmy was a very gracious host. She accommodated an earlier-than scheduled checkin for us, gave us a good intro to Amsterdam and the area, and booked a taxi to the airport for us. Overall a cozy place.

We stayed four days at Emmy’s place on Prinseneiland and absolutely loved the apartment and the location. The place was exactly as described, super quiet and extremely well equipped. Emmy lives upstairs and was full of great info about the neighborhood including some outstanding bars and restaurant recommendations. I highly recommend this for anyone who loves wandering Amsterdam canals outside the touristy hub.

My friend and I stayed at this lovely, cozy apartment right in the heart of Amsterdam. Everything was walkable and very quiet. Emmy was very helpful and accomodating. We had everything we needed including umbrella's!
Only surprise and it could have been I overlooked this... there were about 15 steep stairs up to the unit. I found this a bit of a challenge as I foolishly had a 60 lb suitcase to lug up! LOL!

Emmy greeted us warmly and gave us great restaurant and activity suggestions. She made sure we had everything we needed several times over the course of our two week stay. She’s friendly and wonderful.
Location is beautiful. It’s close enough to the crazy center to make it an easy walk but far enough away to be peaceful. This is staying in a real residential neighborhood not tourist central.
The apartment is clean, nicely furnished and very well maintained. It’s comfortable and livable. Definitely where we will stay when we return to Amsterdam. Thanks, Emmy, for a truly wonderful stay!!!

Quiet, arty neighbourhood within walking distance of good transport links shops and places to eat. Also very close to Westerpark - a great place to relax.
Emmy was a wonderful host: welcoming, knowledgeable and friendly. The stair to the first floor apartment is a steep one though. Vrry comfort

We had a very nice time in Amsterdam and at Emmy's...
We had a very nice time in Amsterdam and at Emmy's canal house apartment. It suited our needs and was in an interesting family neighborhood that ended up being quite handy to the things we wanted to see. Emmy greeted us on arrival and explained how things worked and left us to settle in. We didn't have any issues with the place (though a bit more water pressure would be nice) and enjoyed our stay.
