Situated close to the main street and the Sunnegga Express lift station, Penthouse Zermatt Lodge takes up the whole top floor (320 square meters) of a chalet with an unmatched view over the roof tops dominated by the Matterhorn. There are five double bedrooms, three of which can be configured as twins. All bedrooms have en-suite bathrooms, there is also a private sauna and an outdoor jacuzzi on the south-facing balcony, a guest toilet and an open-plan and professionally equipped.The apartment comes with a washer and dryer.
The focal point of the spacious living rooms is a suspended wood-burning fireplace with its mushroom stools; adjoining it is a large dining area with a long table seating 12 comfortably, an intimate U-shaped seating nook, across from a large L-shaped leather sofa and TV...

The Penthouse lodge Zermatt
Highly recommend staying here in the summer. The sight of the Matterhorn greeting you as you awaken and the sunset is breathtaking. The Accommodation is amazing, so much space, immaculately clean and everything you could possibly need. We will be returning.. the concierge service was outstanding.

Great Family Apartment
Lovely apartment with plenty of lounge space and big bedrooms.
Chalet staff were great and went out of their way to help. Only slight disappointment was a lack of green veg with meals in spite of asking three times for some.
We booked through Mountain Exposure who we heard nothing from once we arrived and only a couple of emails before we arrived. We will not book with them again.

luxury comfort and central location
this luxury retreat was quiet, centrally located, beautifully appointed and extremely comfortable. The Gornergrat Bahn and Sunnegga funicular were a short walk away along the river, the free bus stopped very close by, and a grocery store, bakery and liquor store were within a hundred yards. We opted for a catered experience since we were a large group, and couldn't have been happier! most relaxing ski vacation i have ever had.

A wonderful return to Zermatt

Es war super toll! Es hatte einfach alles zum glücklich sein: eine tolle Aussicht aufs Zermatt, einen coolen Whirlpool, bequeme Betten, ein Cheminée im Wohnzimmer, eine super schöne Küche mit einer tollen Ausstattung und vieles mehr. Es war sehr sauber und war Nahe dem Zentrum. Auch Liv war sehr nett und hat sich stets um uns bemüht. Es war wirklich Perfekt! Wenn es nicht so viel kosten würde, jederzeit wieder ;-)

Fantastic luxury accommodation in spectacular resort.
If you are looking for a high-end, luxury ski experience, look no further! We have just returned from a fabulous week in Zermatt with four other couples. The apartment, Zermatt Lodge, was perfect for all of us. The bedrooms were very equitable, all with en-suites and the living area was generous and comfortable with plenty of room for us all to move around. Helen, our host, was fun, warm and attentive. She organized our lunchtime restaurant reservations, ski passes, massages and generally procured anything we requested ahead of time. Our chef, Chris, was also amazing, providing gourmet dinners, delicious canapés, wonderful breakfasts and afternoon teas. We loved that Chris added his own 'Greek' flair and yet catered to all our tastes with a wide array of delicious dishes. Helen's knowledge of local wines to accompany the dinners was excellent too and we loved that there was no restrictions on our consumption! The Lodge is situated in walking distance of one of the main lift stations and our skis and boots (with warmers) were left overnight across the street. All we had to do was walk 3 minutes, pick up our equipment and head to the cable car - it was effortless. The walk into the center of Zermatt is a pleasant 10 minute walk. We have absolutely no reservations about recommending this company and their staff and hope to return to Zermatt again.

Beautifully appointed lift with a perfect view!
Had a beautiful stay at the penthouse. We were a group of 9 all through the ages of 11-70 and each and every person had a fantastic & very comfortable time.
Just a suggestion, for such a beautiful laid out apartment, maybe you can find some space to put in a washer/ dryer in the apartment itself?

The village Zermatt, lies at the foot of the Matterhorn, the most photographed mountain in the world. Zermatt epitomizes the image of Switzerland: high-alpine, awe-inspiring and original. Thirty eight 4,000-metre mountains are grouped around this word-famous health resort, which has been visited by mountaineers from all around the world since the first successful ascent of the Matterhorn in 1865. Restaurants and Spas are world-class, the ski and hiking area ensuring thrilling sporting experiences 365 days a year. The climate is of an excellent quality: with 300 sunny days a year. The air in Zermatt is clear, dry and clean, because Zermatt is a car free village.
Getting around
Zermatt is a car free village. All amenities are within walking distance. Electro taxis seating up to 7 people are plentiful and will come and collect you within 5 minutes of a phone booking. There are also two electric bus lines.

How to get there
With Plane and/or Train: Flying to either Zurich or Geneva airports is the most convenient when getting to Zermatt: they both have twice-hourly train connections to Zermatt from in-airport train stations. Take the train to Visp, where you change to the mountain train direct to Zermatt. The small-gauge red mountain train that takes you on the last section from Visp to Zermatt is a highlight in itself and a great hit with kids.
With Car: You must park in Täsch, the last village before Zermatt, from where there is a shuttle train or taxi into Zermatt. Trains leave every 20 minutes and take 12 minutes. If you park in the adjacent Matterhorn Terminal you can wheel the luggage carts onto the train.
You can also park your car with one of the Taxi transfer companies (like Taxi Christophe or Fredy) who will then transfer you by car up to Zermatt Urania Taxi drop off point.
