The apartment is located in a building of 1500 , it is an historical palace located in a quiet and safe street at few steps to Trevi Fountain and 5 minutes walking to Spanish steps. Once the site of the 'apostolic' bakery that supplied the Pope family and distributed the bread to the poor in times of famine. The apartment is bright and finely furnished. After a short flight of stairs you reach the first hallway and the door. The apartment is beautifully restored. The ceilings have wooden panelled, rooms are divided by arches with brick. they are genuine of 1500. The bathrooms are decorated with ceramics from the Italian handcraft tradition as well as the Tuscan terracotta floors. This apartment is 2 minutes walk from Trevi, and safely guarded 24 hrs a day by a police guard as it is at the back entrance to a government building. Great location. Only has a small AC unit in the bedroom, so its warm in...More

The place is with big room, looks like an apartment. Also great facilities. Very quiet place, loved our stay there. It is a shame we only stayed for one night.

The TREVI FOUNTAIN, inspired by Roman triumphal arches, is the largest and most famous Baroque fountain in Rome (standing 25.9 meters high and 19.8 meters wide).

In 1629, Pope Urban VIII, asked Bernini to sketch possible renovations of the fountain, finding it insufficiently theatrical. After the Pope's death the project was abandoned. Bernini's lasting contribution was to situate the fountain from the other side of the square to face the Quirinal Palace (so that the Pope could see and enjoy it).
The Trevi Fountain as we know it today, was designed by Nicola Salvi in 1732 and competed in 1762. The central figures of the fountain are Neptun (God of the sea), flanked by two Tritons. One struggles to master a very unruly 'sea horse', the other lead a far more doc...
