I like to make beautiful spaces. There is not one specific way for something to be beautiful. When I first got this place, I felt like it was already a beauty, but it was covered up pretending to be something it was not. For many years, people who were here did not respect what it was. So I began to do what I felt the house asked for, which was not to try to be something it is not, but to accept what it is. And what it is is a 500-year-old house that is proud and comfortable with itself. 'I am old and I don’t want to change or try to be something I am not. Don’t make me new. Make me real,” the house said to me. So a relationship began. “What do you want?” I would ask, and it told. Sometimes we would fight. Sometimes we laughed. Sometimes it seemed like we would never get along. But we never quit, and we bonded and became friends.

About the neighbourhood
If you’re coming to Sevilla to see the city, there is no better place to stay than Santa Cruz. The first time I came to Sevilla, I didn’t know anything about it and I was alone. I found this neighborhood just walking around, and I was amazed. I felt like I wanted the people I knew to see it with me. The streets are so small you spread your arms and touch both sides. You can find small passages where you have to duck down to pass. You can peak into a patio and feel like you’re looking into the past, like you are a time traveler. So many of us have this dream to go explore a place and get lost in a maze of beautiful history, cobblestone streets, old walls with hanging vines. This is it — this is Santa Cruz.

You’re in the historic center, so you can walk everywhere in minutes. If you wish to explore the city on bike, rentals are a 1-minute walk away in Plaza Santa Cruz. A 9-minute walk will take you to the tram that crisscrosses the city. And if you’d like to get outside the city center, buses and the metro are a 9-minute walk away.

When arriving to Sevilla from the Santa Justa train station, the house is a 25 minute walk or a 7-9 Euro taxi ride. From the airport, the house is a 5 Euro bus ride, followed by a 9 minute walk, or a 25 Euro direct taxi ride.
