Mazot Les Tines, Chamonix

Chalet -
1 Bedroom , 1 Bathroom , Sleeps 4
Chamonix, Haute-Savoie, Auvergne-Rhone-Alpes
Mazot les Tines is a cosy little hideaway straight out of Hansel and Gretel. A small chalet situated between Chamonix and Argentière in the village of Les Tines it is well placed for skiing at both Les Grands Montets and Flégère – Brévent, and in the summer with the River Arve running close by, the perfect starting point for country walks. A favourite place for romantic honeymoons! It is set in a pretty garden with the Mont Blanc range as a backdrop, pretty stunning we reckon.

Inside there is a dreamy little bedroom upstairs with a door leading to a small balcony and wooden stairs. Below on the ground floor you will find a shower room, a neat little kitchen (with small oven, hob, fridge and washing machine) and dining area, all in wood of course, beyond which is a living room with a large picture window (more views!). There are two m...

Pros: Picture perfect, very peaceful position and silent at night, very convenient for transport on bus or train, very comfortable queen bed, very clean with excellent mid stay cleaning, helpful Collineige staff. Cons: Main problem is poor draught proofing leading to a difficult to heat...More

We stayed here as a family of four for a skiing holiday over Feb half term. The Mazot is just as described; quaint and quirky. Our two boys (10 & 7) enjoyed sleeping on the gallery reached by ladder and playing in the snow in...More

Thank you for all your feedback and I agree with all your comments - we don't typically advise guests with very young children or for a group of 4 older people as it is cosy - but we try and offer it as a more...More

Mazot Les Tines is very cute and also very small, above all the bathroom. In winter it's quite cold inside because of a floor not really well insulated and old windows. In the bathroom the heating is missing... The surrounding is marvellous and the owner,...More

Thank you for your comments Elisabetta, feedback is always valued. January can be a very cold month and we can understand that with a small baby crawling on the floor this may not have been the ideal place for your little family. We should have...More

About the neighbourhood
In the hamlet of Les Tines between Chamonix and Argentiere, 5 minutes drive from both. Parking is available and the hamlet has a good bus and train service.
Getting around
If you don't have a car you can still get around quite easily. The bus stop and small railway station are about 250m walk from the mazot. By bus the blue line 2 runs every 30 minutes winter and summer up and down the valley (except Sundays out of season). In the ski season and July & August there is also a night bus back from Chamonix at 8.50pm, 9.35pm, 10.20pm and 11.05pm.
The 'Mont Blanc Express train' is a small single line train which runs about once an hour up and down valley from St Gervais le Fayet to Vallorcine where there is a connection to Martigny, Switzerland. It is very scenic and worth a trip. It only takes minutes to get to Chamonix or Argentiere. Timetables for the bus and train are available online and in the mazot.
Car advised
How to get there
Geneva Airport is just over an hour's drive from Chamonix and the roads are good, from Geneva you can hire a car or there are various transfer/bus companies that we can recommend. Chamonix also has its own train station, but it is often quicker to get a train to Geneva and then a transfer from there. There is a parking space at the property.
