Interaction with guests
I will usually be there to check you in and out - depending on your time of arrival/departure. I also manage two cottages in Honfleur, so I may have to give you a specific appointment so as to welcome everybody on time. There's a entry code to the building and a key box with a code should you arrive very late at night or if I can't meet you in person. I enjoy welcoming guests from all over the world. I'm always happy to exchange with you and to give you tips on where to go, what to see, where to eat in Honfleur and area. I will be available during your stay if you have questions and in case of emergencies.

About the neighbourhood
Honfleur is the third most visited town in France! Erik Satie the musician was born there and also the writer and humorist Alphonse Allais. Many actors, writers and people from the arts have adopted the area and there are many beautiful properties around. Many Parisians have holiday homes as Paris is only 2 hours away, either by train or by car. However Honfleur is not just a holiday place, unlike other towns along the coast. It lives all through the year. In summer it's very busy. You'll enjoy walking on the cobbled street, drinking coffee or a glass of wine in a café on the charming harbour, going to the beach which is only a 15 minutes walk from the flat. You'll be spoiled for choices with places to go out! Just ask me!
Getting around
If you want to explore the area on a longer stay, a car will be necessary. If you visit for a weekend, a car won't be necessary.
If you drive, you can go to the nearby towns Trouville and Deauville taking the coast road. The countryside in the Pays d'Auge is beautiful. The D-Day beaches are an hour away and you can have a one-day excursion in Bayeux to see the tapestry (an hour away) and Mont Saint-Michel (2 hours away).
The nearest train station is Pont-L'Evêque and you can take a train to get to Paris for a day excursion. There's a coach station where you can also take a bus to get to Lisieux, Deauville or Le Havre.

How to get there
Airport: Deauville/Saint-Gatien: 15.0 km
Railway: Deauville/Trouville: 15.0 km
If you arrive by ferry from Le Havre, you'll have to drive across the bridge of Normandy and head towards Honfleur centre. At the last roundabout before the harbour, turn right and then straight on until you see the bridge (sas) of La Lieutenance. Straight on, you've arrived place Hamelin. The flat is on the left in a lane between an oyster bar called Terre et Mer and an optician. You can stop for a few minutes to off-load and then go and park. The car park is only 2 minutes away on Boulevard Charles V.
