Charlotte's townhouse was the answer to a prayer for us, since we came to it after driving across France in chilly rain for a number of days: It was cozy, warm, cheerily decorated, totally clean, and had some of the most comfortable beds we've experienced...More

This home is wonderfully situated for visiting all of Normandy. We were made to feel at home. Suggestions are given for local restaurants, and excellent guidebooks are available as well. Our thanks to the owners for making it available!

About the neighbourhood
No 8, Rue Laitiere is nestled in a little courtyard garden, completely hidden away from the hustle and bustle of the busy town. We have provided a garden table and chairs for lazy days at the house, or alfresco eating under the spires of the Cathedral (the bells are silenced overnight). Thankfully the town wasn't damaged during the Liberation, and there are many wonderful buildings to see, lovely parks to discover and a pretty walk along the towns river which also has a large water wheel in the centre. The Bayeux Tapestry and the meeting points for various tour companies are all within a few minutes walk, as are the shops, restaurants, train station etc. No car is necessary.
Getting around
A car is desirable, but there is a good selection of tour operators in Bayeux who offer various tours // shuttle services to all the major tour sites. All rendezvous points for the tour operators are within a few minutes walk of the property.
