Qunitalone, a property in the Lauragais hills, 35 km south of Toulouse,is a haven of peace and quiet, just 5 minutes from Auterive village with its local produce market, cinema, riverside café and open-air dancing, and the usual range of services and shops. Entirely independent of the country house itself, which is the residence of the owners, I and D, who are on hand to attend to all your needs with both discernment and discretion, the guest house contains 230m2 of carefully planned and renovated space, with accommodation for 8. Two parking spaces, one a garage, are reserved for your convenience. It has 3 large bedrooms with en suite bathroom facilities. The 56m2 main bedroom, located upstairs, has a 160X200 double bed, a small reading room, and an en suite bathroom with bath, double washbasin and wc. Ceiling beams divide the living space naturally into waking and sleeping quarters, with light filtering through numerous windows to create an atmosphere of warmth and intimacy. The other upstairs bedroom contains 4 single beds, ideal for children. Between the 2 bedrooms there is a self-contained bathroom with shower, double washbasin and wc. A third bedroom is situated on the ground floor. It has a 160X200 double bed and en suite bathroom with bath, double wc and laundry space. The wc is separate. This is a sunlit room overlooking the gardens and swimming pool. The kitchen/dining room is spacious and convivial with a central workspace and table for 10. The corner fireplace will be especially appreciated in winter, and the kitchen also has access to a sheltered patio, sunlit terrace and the gardens. The gardens contain lots of things for children to do. The adjoining living-room, with its comfortable chairs and cosy, colourful cushions, is equipped with a flat screen TV, DVD player, hifi system and wi-fi connection. On the walls are a selection of sketches from the owner's erstwhile art gallery in Toulouse, whereas other rooms contain paintings and sculptures that create an original decorative style. All exhibited pieces are on sale. Having most probably spent a busy day discovering this remarkable region, you will finally be able to relax in and around the swimming pool with its magnificent view over the valley and distant mountains. The pool is protected from the garden by a door, fencing around the pool itself and an alarm indicating any immersion. While the adults are drinking their apéritifs, children will find plenty of attractions in the gardens: swings, open air games... This is Quintalone ! As Jules Renard once wrote: 'The countryside is fertile soil for all sorts of dreams'. Activities and visits : - canoe/kayak; fishing; swimming - paths for hiking ; cycling - accessible tow-paths - a tourist circuit of Cathar Castles - prehistoric caves at Niam, Mas d'Azil - Carcassonne, fortified medieval city - Astronomy at the Quintalone site 1hr drive : cross-country skiing at plateau de Beille 1h30 drive : alpine skiing at Bonascre, les Monts d'Olmes… For children : tree walks, horse riding, farm visits, a wolf compound… Equipment : Kitchen/dining room : restaurant quality cooker, espresso coffee machine, microwave, dishwasher, baby high-chair, kitchen linen, basic foods… Laundry : washing machine, dryer, iron & ironing table, basic maintenance products, emergency first-aid kit Living room : coffee table art books, cds & dvds, iphone and internet connections Bedrooms : quality linen, beds made up before arrival, baby-bed available on request Bathrooms : towels, hair dryer Garden : garden table and chairs, barbecue, deck chairs, parasols, Outdoor games : table tennis, volley-ball net, boules (for children), swimming buoys, badminton, swings,garden hut.
