Buckthorn Cottage is a listed Cotswold stone cottage which sleeps 2+2 guests, in one bedroom (with the +2 option being a king size sofa bed in the living room), with a stylish family bathroom. Once part of the stables for the Noel Arms Hotel which dates back to the 12th century, this beautiful cottage has been tastefully decorated in a contemporary style with modern facilities including wireless internet access, a Smart TV and a well-equipped kitchen. An enclosed garden lies at the front of the property and there is an allocated parking space for one car. An archway from Chipping Campden’s high street leads into a peaceful cul-de-sac which is home to a small number of properties, including Buckthorn Cottage. This much loved market town has a variety of pubs, tea rooms and independent shops to enjoy, as well as impressive architecture including the 17th century Market Hall in the centre of the town and the East Banqueting House just a short walk away. This picturesque town is surrounded by stunning countryside, with many walks and cycle routes on its doorstep, none so famous as that of the Cotswold Way long distance walking trail, a 100 mile long trail which links Chipping Campden to Bath. Chipping Campden is well placed for exploring the other wonderful towns and villages of the North Cotswolds, such as Winchcombe, Stow-on-the-Wold, Broadway and Snowshill. Popular tourist attractions in the area include the Gloucestershire Warwickshire Railway, the Lavender Fields at Snowshill and Hidcote Gardens, now under ownership of the National Trust. Further afield destinations such as Oxford, Blenheim Palace and Stratford-upon-Avon, birthplace of William Shakespeare, are easily accessible for day trips. House rules Security deposits A security deposit of £150 is payable, which is returned after the letting period, subject to an inspection of the property. For the avoidance of doubt, guests are requested to leave the property in a reasonable condition, consistent with the property's appearance upon arrival. In the event that the owners, or their appointed housekeepers, have to spend additional time tidying up after your departure, then the cost of this extra time may be deducted from your security deposit. Occupancy The maximum occupancy of the property is three adults or two adults and two children under the age of 12, at any point during your stay. Unauthorised over occupancy is a breach of our terms and conditions and may result in the cancellation of your booking and additional charges. Please consult us prior to booking if you wish to discuss the possibility of having more than four guests at the property. Infants who sleep in a cot do not count towards the occupancy figure, however, due to space restrictions, the occupancy figure may only be exceeded by one additional infant. Pets One small dog is accepted, at a cost of £20 per booking. For the comfort of future guests, we ask that dogs remain downstairs, stay off the furniture and that no trace of a dog remains after your departure. Bed sizes and configurations Master bedroom: King size bed Living room: King size sofa bed suitable for two children under the age of 12 or one adult only Bathroom Family bathroom: Walk-in shower, toilet and wash basin Heating The property has an electric central heating system and electricity is included in the rental price. Services provided The property has free wireless internet access and a Smart TV with access to Netflix. There is no telephone at the property. Mobile phone reception is generally OK. Parking The property has an allocated parking space and there is free on-street parking available in the town if needed. Child friendly facilities Guests are welcome to bring their own travel cot and high chair, to accommodate one infant. Initial consumables A small quantity of initial consumables is provided for your convenience (eg. tea, coffee, sugar, dishwasher tablets, washing up liquid, organic soap, toilet rolls, etc), however, you should not expect the quantity of these provisions to be sufficient for the duration of your stay. Accessibility, health and safety The smoke and CO detectors operate on a sound only basis and, therefore, those who have serious impairment of hearing may not be able to hear the alarm systems and could be at risk. Smoking No smoking is permitted throughout the property. Photographs In order to provide you with as much detail of our properties as possible, we sometimes use wide angle photography, which can make certain rooms, or spaces, appear larger than they actually are. Wherever possible, we try to include a floorplan, with detailed dimensions of rooms and areas. If you have any queries regarding the size of any rooms or spaces, please do not hesitate to contact us.More

About the neighbourhood
Chipping Campden is one of the main market towns in the North Cotswolds, built by medieval traders with wealth created from the wool trade. With many thatched cottages, this is one of the most picturesque towns in the region. A notable feature of the town is the Market Hall which was built in 1627. Originally thought to be used in the wool trade, the main function of the hall was actually to give shelter to local cheese, poultry and butter sellers.
Getting around
The Cotswolds is a rural location and whilst there is access to public transport, it is highly recommended that you have a car.
