Holiday Rental House
Welcome to the historic Lancaster Quay and the iconic Little Crooked House where right angles are not quite ninety degrees and the horizontal is a novelty! A sea captain, used to the listing decks whilst at sea, built his wonky on-shore home some 250 years ago. So beware, shipmates, you may need to adjust your gait to accommodate our sloping floors! A leaning Listed Building (grade II) in a beautiful Conservation area, 5 minutes from city centre! You won't be disappointed... However, storms and waves will be abated and your stay will be peaceful, comfortable and you will enjoy Lancaster's cultural city at your fingertips. A wonderful place for solos and couples and, in time, families, friends and larger groups. The blue room, on the first floor, has a comfortable (low) double bed, sofa and arm chair. There is a small wardrobe, and TV with Wifi. The adjacent bathroom has bath, shower, washing machine and loo with a view. The Red Room, on the second floor is now en suite. It is cosy and comfortable with great views. There is a useable attic space that isn't quite finished. There is a short, double futon, toilet and sink. The stairs are steep and there is no door. It is light and comfortable and suitable for older children or young adults. The kitchen: tell me what's missing - I think it has it all with a lovely table at which you can laptop or dine! Help yourself to full breakfast, cereal and fruit, tea and coffee... So, will you walk the Pendle Witches' Trail or cycle to Slave Sambo's grave at the beautiful Sunderland Point (check tides!!!)? I give a small percentage of takings to Global Link (a development education centre, creative learning and action for a just and sustainable world (URL HIDDEN) and endeavour always to use eco friendly cleaning products and fair trade or locally sourced delights and, in time, completely ethical-sourced services. Weekends - three nights minimum please. Unsuitable for very young or those who find steps or unlevel floors a challenge - but lets chat! Please note if you want laminate floors and a modern feel - this is NOT for you! I have a newly acquired parking permit which you will have full access to. Claire and Phil look forward to meeting you very soon.More

How to get there
Lancaster Quay is just off centre of the City. It's about 12 minute walk from the train station along a beautiful tree-lined cycle path and past the edge of Quay meadows. The bus station is five minutes walk away from where you can access the university, the Lakes and coaches down to London. Manchester and Manchester Airport is 50 minutes train journey. So, getting to the Little Crooked House can't be easier - but if you need to come by car it's easy enough too: M6, J33 (northbound) and J34 (southbound). Please let me know how you are coming and I'll happily give you more detailed directions.
