About the neighbourhood
What guests repeadly tell us is how much they enjoy the peace and tranquiltiy of Doonbank - its woodland; walks by the river and and the wildlife. We are located just a 3 minute drive from Robert Burns heritage museum and cottage. The coast and views across to the Isle of Arran is just 2 minutes in the other direction. Tourist favourites such as Culzean Castle is just a 20 minute drive away. If you are a golfing fan - we have 16 golf courses within a one hour drive - and they include the championship courses of Prestwick; Royal Troon and Trump Turnberry.
Getting around
To benefit fully from the surrounding area and atractions, you do really need a car. However, we have had a number of guests in the past who have been hikers using the Ayrshire Coastal Path and public transport.
