It is a extremely large for Edinburgh standards and part of a traditional building which is very central. It is full of charm and retains many original features such as 5 fireplaces, high ceilings, wood floors, hearth in the kitchen, elaborate cornices, working shutters, door bell above main door and even a small bit of the original wall paintings/stencils that were once fashionable in the capital! Beautiful apartment. Huge, bright, clean and enviable decor. We stayed with extended family for just a few nights but wished we could stay longer. All our dealings with Michele and her rep in Edinburgh were swift, professional and friendly. Highly recommended.

About the neighbourhood
Edinburgh is facinating architecturally. The old town was built, then buildings were built on top of the buildings, then alleyways were closed in to create yet more living space. It's a virtual rabbit warren. The old town also houses one of the oldest Camera Obscuras in the world. The new town, in contrast, is grand, and very thoughtfully laid out in squares, with many, if not most of the buildings built in the Georgian Style.
