Ailsa my property manager will be your host during your stay will meet you at the apartment and answer any questions you have. Guests who arrive later than around 15:00 hrs will be given key box instructions for entry which is very simple. We can accomodate guests who arrive early at around 11:30. However please note this is only for dropping off bags, the apartment will still be required to be cleaned. Please can you let us know if you are two guests and you require two seperate beds made up. The property has a Main Bed a Loft Bed and a Sofa Bed. I like to keep the numbers to a maximum of four people. If you woud like the Sofa Bed made up an additional charge of £10.00 is required for extra cleaning.

About the neighbourhood
Hillside is within close proximity to the City Centre, a minute’s walk from popular facilities such as the St James Centre, Princes Street, Edinburgh Playhouse and Waverley Railway Station. This is an ideal situ for those wishing to work and socialise within Edinburgh City Centre as a variety of shopping for everyrequirements are close at hand together with a substantial range of restaurants, bars and the commercial area of the city are all within easy reach of the property. Carlton Hill and Holyrood Parliament Buildings are both within walking distance. Regular transportation links are provided by way of bus routes, allowing easy access to most parts of the city and beyond.
Getting around
Edinburgh is a city made for walking, but if you want or if there is a need there is a very good public travel system. Buses cost £1.60 per journey or £4.00 for day ticket.

Taxis are easy to wave down and book, they are expensive for short journeys but very practical if you need to get across town in a hurry.

Directly opposite the apartment there is metered parking. This costs £1.20 per hour for a maximum of 4 hours. Monday to Friday. Parking is free All day Saturday and Sunday.

There is free parking at The Meadowbank Shopping Center which is around a 5 minute walk away. It is safe to unload your vehicle for 15-20 minutes, do keep an eye out for traffic wardens as they are on a commision basis.

There is a tram from the airport which costs £5 (£8.50 return) and you would get off at the last stop at York Place and walk down Leith walk and then Montgomery Street.

The shuttle airport bus costs £4.50 (£7.50 return) and you would get off outside Waverley train station.
