Condo/Apartment -
3 Bedrooms , 1 Bathroom , Sleeps 5
Edinburgh, Scotland
Centrally located spacious & bright 2nd floor Victorian apartment in residential area in the heart of the city.
This was our home for a number of years and has been well maintained and decorated by my husband Steve. He also created the stained glass that you see in the bathroom door and crafted all the windows for the apartment keeping you all nice and snug.
We also have a wifi thermostat which is very effective and is great for our world travelers who can control the heating/temperature to suit their needs.
There are gabulous world cuisine eateries and cafes on your doorstep & nearby. 10/15 minute walk to Princes Street and a wide variety of buses 2 mins from apartment.
Calton Hill is just a stones throw away which has the most fantastic views over Edinburgh, lots of follies and Edinburgh's Observatory is also situated ther...

Interaction with guests
We like to meet and greet guests, when we can, and if arrivals are not too late (we have a very young family and don't have family closeby to assist us!!). We also have a key safe outside the apartment and can give you the code, if you arrive very late or in the wee night hours. We have very little interaction with guests once they arrive but if needs be we will be there for guests to help out or answer any questions usually by email, text and less so by phone. Petrea also uses Whats App so there are lots of ways to communicate with eachother.

The apartment was stylish, comfortable and in a great location. Everything was in place for a relaxing, hassle free city break. And Petrea was a great host. What's not to love about this place.

About the neighbourhood
Eating in this area will spoil you for choices...here is what Tripadvisor recommends https://www.tripadvisor.co.uk/RestaurantsNear-g186525-d607027-Edinburgh_Playhouse-Edinburgh_Scotland.html At the bottom of Brunswick Street is a lovely little cafe called 12 Triangles - they serves great hot chocolate like no other, great pastries and cakes and super fresh bread. Nearby is Manna House on Easter Road. Up market food is at Gardner's cottage at the top of Brunswick Street just opposite on London Road but you'll need to book in advance.
Getting around
Lots of buses and taxis are cheap - its so easy. The bus stop is off Brunswick Street or a closer one is just on Elm Row off Montgomery Street off Leith Walk - every bus imaginable is there and also at the top of London Road - top of Brunswick Street.
How to get there
Lothian Buses service 35 provides a direct connection from Edinburgh Airport to the centre of town. You would get off at the top of Easter Road and walk up Montgomery Street which intersects Brunswick Street. The No 35 bus takes around an hour so it's quicker (though more expensive) to use the Airlink Service 100 takes you from the airport to Waverley Bridge and the apartment is just a 15 minute walk or you could get a bus (opposite to the top of London Rd or Elm Row, nos 4, 44, 26, 15 (go to the top of London Road) 10, 11, 15, 16 go to Elm Row/Leith Walk. The apartment is equidistant from both stops - so lots of choices! You could also take the Tram and get off at York Place and walk 5/10mins to the apartment on Brunswick Street.
