Great location, very quiet and very comfortable. Tucked away in its own large plot which makes it very private. Well equipped and a lovely welcome pack left for us to enjoy. Dog friendly and space for a dog to roam around as it is all...More
Spent a week here with our 2 children who are 12 and 9 and we all absolutely loved it. It is so peaceful and takes you away from it all. It was spacious with lots of room for the kids to explore. Waking up every...More

Alison, great to hear you enjoyed your stay and the children sounded like they made the most of the wildlife and the outdoors, hopefully we may see you again another time, regards Julian
The area has much more to offer than we realised. Beautiful beaches, dappled woodland, fishing, swimming pools, farms and lots of activities within a short drive for the children and family. The lodge was very much a last minute booking, but we are over the...More

Best place I’ve stayed! Been back several times, this was the first time for a week and it was the best of all our stays. Would recommend this place to anyone.
Fabulous place for our family holiday. We enjoyed many walks around the area especially the coastal walk from Sandyhills to Rockcliffe.
Ashwood Lodge was a great base, very peaceful with everything we required.
We would certainly consider revisiting this place.

From DUMFRIES take the A710 coastal road signposted NEW ABBEY for approx 16 miles to CAULKERBUSH, continue for 1 more mile west on this road then turn right up a small lane. CLIFTON FARM is about 500 yards off the main road on the right. The entrance to Ashwood Lodge is past the farm entrance around 100 yards further on the right hand side.
