We have stayed at Gorse Hiill two years in a row (2019 is our third) for 7-10 days+ and we cannot recommend it highly enough. It's often booked up so if there is availability I recommend you snap it up! The apartment is more like...More

A beautiful property located in a most scenic area. Peaceful and relaxing. Short drive to beach. Fabulous mountain walks. Stayed a weekend, wish we had longer :(. Property itself had everything we needed. Neil made us most welcome. We will be back.

We have stayed twice at Gorse Hill farm and both times were outstanding. Well equipped kitchen and very comfortable. The views are amazing and the walks are a challenge but very rewarding. You can do as much or as little as you want. Hopefully not...More

We stayed there quite a while ago but we still talk about it and plan on returning this fall (hopefully it’s available!) Most gracious hosts with donkeys and chickens and an adorable dog named Bella. Fresh eggs in the refrigerator and the most spectacular views....More

Situated on the side of Slievenaman mountain, the house offers spectacular views over the Shimna river valley towards Slieve Meelmore and Hare's gap. Direct walking access to the mountains at Trassey track within a 15 minute walk and only a 3 minute drive from Spelga Dam and 10 minutes from Newcastle town centre.
How to get there
From Newcastle, follow directions for Bryansford/ Hilltown. Continue through Bryansford following the Hilltown road for 3 miles. You will see a brown sign for Gorse Hill Farm at which you turn left and follow the Slievenaman road for 1 mile. The property is on the right located in its own private grounds of 7.5 acres.
