Come here and see the stunning Autumn colours, dont 'leave'it too long....Close to ZIPWORLD/BOUNCE BELOW! Bwlch y Plwm is a very quiet, romantic and private traditional 5 bedroom cottage, set in the foot of the mountains, 300 metres from the nearest road and accessed via a wooded track, which is not suitable for vehicles such as sports cars with limited ground clearance. Honda Jazz will be fine, for example. So says Nana! You will definately feel away from the hustle and bustle here, even though the nearest shops, cafes and restaurants at Penrhynduedraeth are 5 miles away. You are about 2 miles from Pont Croesor station on the Welsh Highland Railway, and a similar distance from Tan y Bwlch station on the Ffestiniog railway. Your closest mammals all week could well be the neighbouring farmers sheep. Plenty of walking from the back door, and unrivalled views down the Glaslyn valley towards Porthmadog, the cob and the sea. There are 5 bedrooms, sleeping 8-9 guests, a dining room with stocked real fireplace, polished tile floor......a lounge with plenty of seating, including a window seat, and a built in working range. Bwlch y Plwm is very warm and cosy, with all rooms having individual electric heating, all included in the price, of course. There are 2 bathrooms, 1 is a shower/toilet/basin combo, whilst the other has a stunning window view bath/shower.......no one to see you out here!.... plus toilet and basin. There is a lovely kitchen with gas cooker, fridge freezer, microwave, dishwasher, plenty of workspace/storage, washing machine, tumble drier, all your catering equipment, clean,tidy and waiting for you (or hubby). Bring the childrens bikes, frisbies, wellies/walking boots, if you want we can remove the television, but unfortunately cannot remove the unusually good mobile signal! This is the house is in a place that you will want to return to as often as possible............More

This cottage was perfect for a group of 5 adults with enough rooms so no one had to share. It feels remote but the pub is a mile away which was ideal after a days walking in the mountains. Trevor the owner is a great...More

Great location nice local pub nice local cafe lovely open fires and comfy beds great Base camp for walking snowdon loved it especially the friendly sheep haven't seen the milky way that clear for a long time👍

Such a great getaway. We wish we could have stayed longer. Breathtaking views from the bedroom windows and the front door. The cottage was warm, clean, and spacious. We even had a lovely fire going in the lounge and dining room. Decent walks all around....More

About the neighbourhood
There are local villages a mile or so either side of Bwlch , plus a very well respected pub (the ring) and Plas Brondanw, the residence of the creator of Portmerion, which is itself a few miles down the road. Beddgelert and the Aberglaslyn Pass are a few miles up the road, with a choice of pubs,restaurants and shops, whilst the more cosmopoliton areas of Penrhyndudreath and Porthmadog are a little further down the valley to the West. The cottage is well positioned to get to Zipworld, Bounce Below, Go Below, Coed y Brenin and many other adventure activities, including your own that you might make up outside the front or back doors !
How to get there
Bwlch y Plwm is 300 metres off the Llanfrothen/Garreg to Tan y Bwlch/Oakley Arms road. Potential guests must remember please that the access track is not suitable for low sports cars, and that there are 2 gates to open and close before you reach the house itself. It is peaceful and secluded. And that is how it is to be enjoyed.
