Visit Erddig (National Trust) – Like ‘Downton Abbey’ you get to see the servants quarters 4. Cycle the 'Black run' at the Llandegla Mountain bike centre (5 mins drive away – you can hire bikes there too 5. Walk the roman city walls of the City of Chester (40mins away) 6. Go to Ruthin to see 3 new attractions; the Goal, the Craft Centre and Nant-Clwyd House (20mins away) 7. Four nights in this very homely space, thoughtful hosting, all amenities clearly labelled and easy to use. Great base for walks, plenty to do within 15mins vicinity. Loved by kids, town close enough for a stop off/stock up en route. Atmospheric!

We had a lovely weekend staying at Plas y ail. The view is beautiful. The house is very clean and well equipped. Our children loved playing in the garden and they enjoyed all of the toys in the house.
